Called at 9:00pm and hung up on the answering machine.  

Some kind of cancer charity. It's an automated call then they send to to "quality control" to seal the deal.  They are a repeat offender and willfully violate Do Not Call.

You are half right. They are not a charity. They use the charity excuse to get around the DNC because Charities are exempt from the DNC. But various charities have gone on record saying they do not cold call you. They are in reality either a telemarketer as you said who is a repeat offender and willfully violating the DNC on (or not) behalf of the charity or they are a scammer that doesn't care about the DNC.

Caller ID said Unknown Name, we know the names of everybody we want to talk to.  They only let the phone ring twice so the answer machine didn't have a chance.

Called today left no message.

Leaves no message,has called repeatedly ! A nusance

phone scammer. Can't make them stop. They don't leave msgs just harass you.

This number calls almost every day more than once. My caller ID shows unknown caller, therefore, I do not take the call. This is becoming very annoying, and need to have them stop. This is going beyond ridiculous. They hang up before the answering machine can pick up the call.
