The man said he was George, was insistant on talking to my aged mother, who, he said, they talked to every year, but avoided telling me what organization he reperesented. He was pushy. I said she was asleep, he said thank ou and hung up. he said he represented "California Firefighters".

This was a hang-up call on the answering machine.  I found the number on my CID, and wanted to know who it belonged to.  I got a phonecall from the California Police Activities League a while back... this is probably them trying to roust money out of me... GOOD LUCK!

I was babysitting when this number called and one of the girls answered. He said that he was from Kern County Sheriff's department. Didn't say his name but asked if everything was okay. Then he asked the girl if her parents were at home. She said no. And he said okay and then hung up.

I keep getting hangups the moment i answer the phone from this number.  It is very scary.  I keep thinking maybe it's part of a network trying to find out when people are home so they can go rob them when they are not.  I called the number back and a recording stated it was a Fund Raising Organization ... sure!  If they were legit they wouldn't hangup on people!

Never leaves a message, but comes through as private name. Get several a week. I am tired of this, I don't have time to keep checking on numbers that I don't recognize.

hellooooooo...when you answer and get hung up on, thats a dialing machine hanging up on you. It means that all the telemarketers were busy talking to other people. This is for a fundraiser for the Sheriff's. unfortunatly no one walks into a sheriff's station with a donation, at least not until a deputy maybe dies! Unfortunatly this is still the only way to reach the many, many people who still want to support thier local sheriff.

The guy said he got two bj's and offered me one.

Received call 8/7/08 - said he was from "California Firefighters". When I said I donate locally, he said they help my local town more than the locals do, then hung up on me.

They left no message on answer machine. I resent getting these unknown number calls.

Claims to be fundraiser for California firefighters. Told him I never donate in response to telemarketing calls and hung up.
