Caller asked to speak to owner then asked if my business was a travel agency then hung up. I called the number back and there was a message from Google voice mail.

Just received a call from this number. Said hello twice and then it disconnected. I am all done answering the phone when I don't recognize the number. This is bothersome. I'd like to see people fined for doing this crap- it wasn't the case of a wrong number or something like that, this number is obviously being used to harass people and that schit doesn't fly with me.

Just got 2 back to back calls from this number, both times no one was on the other end, I tried calling back, and got a message saying "the Google subscriber is not available at this time"

Answer this call and hear nothing on the other end. Others report the same here on this site and I found similar reports on other call complaint sites. Anyone find out who they are or what game is afoot?

Answered - caller hung up.  Called number back - no answer.

I just answered a call from this number.  The woman said she was from Visa and wanted to speak with the business owner.  Since I closed my business two years ago, I asked her what business she was trying to reach and of course, it was my closed business.  I told her this is a private number and she seemed disappointed and annoyed!

Just got the same call as others are reporting. No one was on the line and the person hung up. I'm going to block this number it's obviously  Scammer. What real company still uses a google number without changing the voice mail at least.

My band utilizes Square to accept credit card payments.  Someone from this phone number called me, asked if I'm the business owner, even knew the band's name.  He asked if I'd want to only be charged. 05% for transactions instead of 2.75% from Square.  I told him I didn't trust this call and hung up.  I suspect the next questions would have been related to attaching a bank account number, etc.   I do believe this is a complete scam, but I think they are drawing information from Square's user base somehow.  Use caution!

Just received a phone call from this number. Unfortunately I answered it because I own a business and take unrecognized calls daily so I didn't think anything of it. I said hello twice only to be hung up on. I immediately blocked this number from my phone and Googled it to find out more, which led me to read and contribute to the comments. Seems like it was either a telemarketing scheme and/or a spammer trying to gather information. Either way, that's not ok!! Ain't nobody got time for stupid phone calls!

Missed a call from this number on my mobile phone, and they didn't leave a message. Our business number is forwarded to my mobile, so I don't know which number they were actually calling, but like BSierens above, our company uses Square to process credit cards.

Same as the business owners above. I too have a square account, food for thought. I did not answer though because I do not answer phone calls from area codes I do not know. They left no message.

I use square as well and just got a call from the same. Sometimes I wonder if anything is safe!

This looks like a google number, yes they hung up and yes I have a square business account.  Did square give out our account information or was it possibly stolen?

they called me on my cell phone and asked if I was the owner of a company and I told him I was only 18 yrs old, how could I be the owner of this company I've never even heard of. and he was laughing at me saying "you're 18?" "you're the owner huh?" and i said I've never even heard of the company, and he kept accusing me of the owner and hung up. no life people.

I got a call from this number too a couple of hours ago on my cell but missed the call, no message left.  it's beginning to look like the common denominator here is having an account with Square, and yes I also have a business account with Square, but haven't used it in several months.  I have had different calls over the last few months offering various "deals" on different things, and every time I tell them I NEVER do business on the phone unless I was the one who initiated the call.  Some of them get annoyed and/or hang up when I say that.
