Called my brother and said they were a military friend of mine from georgia and was trying to get in touch with me. They said I had a warrant for my arrest for an unpaid debt and would refuse to give me the state but tracked the phone to jonesboro Georgia or from georgia anyway.  Anyway I checked with national warrant and there is no warrants in the usa for me.  These people found out a debt I had with a vet in texas which i paid off not to long ago dec 09 and told my brother that I served in the military with them at ft benning.  These people are very stupid and are doing it from home/ background noise people laughing while the guy was trying to collect information on me.  Brother just hung up on them.

My dad called me to say some so-called law firm was due to handle a civil or criminal case involving me, and needed to "verify" my Social Security number since they didn't know if they had the right one.  A low-tech twist on attempts to phish for your bank account number or other personal information--no legitimate company will ever ask for your Social Security number over the phone.

Just called my home phone.  Message was for someone who I don't know from someone saying he is Investigator Mark Reid of Hunter and Associates.  He said there is a possible civil and criminal filing placed with their office against the guy he called for at my home.  Again, a guy I've never heard of.  He even gave a case number to make it sound legit and "scary".   My caller ID said it was from 1015 at the 678 number.  Needless to say, they will not be getting a return call.  I think I will now check out Hunter and Associates and phone number 877-322-2023 which is the number he left for call back, with his extension being 1015.

I to receive a call from this number stating that I owed for a check from Ace check cashing.  And I called Ace and there are not aware of this.  This telephone number also claim that the home office was in Wisconsin.  The home office is located in Irving, Texas.  Stated they were an investigation firm.  One stated that his name was Mr. Henry Martinex, another Mr. Wallace, and the last person I spoke with after I ask if I can speak with Mr. Martinez supervisor--in which mr. Martinez answered the phone. I spoke with a Mr. Reid which stated his position was chief investigator.  so, I asked him where the company was located  and the street address (Panola Road with a zip code of 30038.  He in returned asked me why --replied that I had a right to know and from what I pulled up by the phone number nothing nice was being said.  I also asked about whos name the business was in or the proprietor.  Get this he state it was none of my business and they were done working with me after he had listen in on the conversation.  So, i hung up on him.

My mother in law got a call from these people who told her that there was a criminal and a civil case pending against me (illegal to tell a 3rd party any details other than to ask where they can reach someone).  Talked to them and they were all over the place saying that they could make an arrangement but only with immedate payment over the phone, any collection company must follow up a phone call with a written request for payment within 5 days of the phone call, never have received a written request yet, and threatening criminal action suit if payment not recieved, also illegal, also you have the right to dispute the debt within 30 days of notification of the debt.  I still have no proof that they are actually collecting for a company at all.  They had no record of my phone number at all and it is not listed but my in laws is so I am very suspicious of this company.  They are representing them selves as investigators in criminal and civil action cases and they are not.

Are these guys the real deal? I have received two different calls from two different numbers: an 877 number and a 678 number. I have heard much the same guys as what you have posted. I asked the invesitgator at ext 1016 to send me the validation of the account and I still haven't heard anything.

I got calls from these people too, with threatening phone messages, but never anything in writing.

Some guy named Logan Wallace told me to call or there will be serious legal action.  Please... ~yawn~

I refuse to talk to these thugs and stick-up artists.  Until I see some legal documentation from them, they are more than welcome to try some case against me.  I'm in the great city of New York and our police and law officials have terrorists to go after, not to do the dirty work for a bunch of third-rate scam artists.

If they do try to take me to court, they better have their paperwork together because I will rake them over the coals and the courts will too.  The New York judicial system HATES to do the dirty work for outside agencies.  They like to eat these ambulance chasing lawyers for breakfast.  I've seen it myself.

Someone from this number called my home asking to verify my social security number and saying there is a civil suite pending against me. The cheif investigator Billy Anderson spoke to me and said there was a warrant out for my arrest for a debt with Ace Check Cashing. I disputed the claim and the person got angry and hung up.

I called back and spoke to a Monica Johnson and a different chief investigator. This time the call went differently, they claimed they did not no who the first person was who called my home, and they did not want to anwser any of my questions. Needless to say the call ended in a shouting match and they hung up once again.

They called twice looking for my son, claiming to be a chief investigator doing a legal investigation. If I didn't give them his phone number they were going to call the county sheriff. I told them to go right ahead. My son says that as far as he knows he does not have any unpaid debts. By reverse looking up the phone number it appears to be a residence at 241 Ethan Moore, Jonesboro, Ga 30238 The uncertainty factor is most likely only a house or 2 away if not that address. This is only a residential neighborhood. If we wanted to pay we could find out for sure which house and who lives there.

This is definitely does not appear to be a legal business and looking at the street view crime definitely pays. Repos in the area are selling for a quarter million dollars apiece. We could not get a look at the front of the house because evidently this neighborhood has enough pull that they are not on street view, only from the main road at the back of the house. If you want to contribute to their lavish life style go ahead and pay them.

I have got two phone calls from them and its a lady with the last name Washington. She leaves a message it has to deal with a legal matter and in my best interest to call back. Then she leaves an 877 number. I am sorry but I dont know any company or any person money! The law firm is Hunters Law firm. That is the name of the Firm she says she is from!

lol my wife just recently received a threatening phone call from this same number and i had here call a lawyer, and thet police department in our area, and she was told that if this place is legit, they cannot have a warrant put out for your arrest, a they can though however, have a judgement put on your paycheck or tax return, so this is a scam do not pay these people. but my guess is its a scam

Who are you?  Henry Martinez himself.  This is not legit and I would advice everyone to ignore their scare tactics.  They are a harrassing debt collector for some payday loan company.

They are not the real deal and do not fall pray to them.  If they were the "real deal" they would know that consumers have rights and they would follow procedure as they are required to.  I actually told one of these jerks my rights and he quickly changed his tone to a smarta** and told me since I thought I knew all of the laws he would just order an arrest warrant for me.  IDIOTS trying to make an illegal score $$$

I'm sure you didn't, but as a warning to others Please NEVER EVER give anyone your social security number or any other personal information over the phone.  Especially, when someone calls you asking for it.  If you do give out this type of information you might as well give them every dime you have in the bank and help them apply for credit cards and any other loan they want.  Because that is exactly why they want your personal information.  Spread the word people.  Especially to elderly people who are so easily mislead.

Received a phone call from this number stating civil and criminal case against x husband, 8/9/10 to be held in Licking County fishing for phone number of x - don't believe this is legit.

I GOT a call from this company at my stepmother's house (I don't live there) and it was from Investigator Logan Wallace who left a voicemail with the "resolve" this legal matter and it's a investigation, etc. NEVER received anything in writing to validate the debt and I am so glad you guys told me this is fake - I filed a BBB and FTC complaint. It's against FDCPA to threaten to sue or have someone arrested etc. I should know, I work for a collection agency. Haha Hunters And Associates Investigation Firm, LLC , you're not scamming me.

Just received a call from this number today, from a lady named Veronica Scott.  She, too, claimed to work for Hunter and Associates and was looking for my father.  She left me a message saying it was regarding a civil and criminal suit and he had listed me as a reference and said to call her back at 877 322 2023 ext. 1014.  Upon returning their call, she said she couldn't tell me anything regarding the case but asked to verify my dad's phone number.  The number she repeated to me was our old house phone number from over twelve years ago.  I told her I wouldn't give her any info but I would try to contact him myself.  I told my dad to contact them because I was concerned but after thinking about it, decided to look into it.  I found this, along with another website saying this is a scam and I believe it.  When my dad finally talked to them they did claim it was for Ace Check Cashing.  


http://www.hunterandassociatesfirm.com/Home_Page.html  This is their website, and you can tell it doesn't even look professional enough to be real.  If you look at the picture on the website, on the glass in the background you can tell that it doesn't even say "Hunter and Associates" on the glass.  My dad's identity and information was already stolen once, he doesn't need to be scammed again!  Nobody deserves it and these people are fakes!!!!

So this is response from my BBB complaint against Hunter And Associates Firm....WOW, read my complaint and their response....so they're saying they did threaten on a voicemail to persue legal action and put me in jail? They admit it because "they show I owe the debt"? Is there a debtor's JAIL I have never been made aware of?

According to our records this consumer does owe this debt. At this point of time we have ceased communications with the consumer and we are actively pursuing getting the validation of the debt over to Ms. ---------. <------------this is the response


here's my complaint to the BBB:
I have received many calls from this company which states it name is Hunter and Associates Firm. "Investigator Logan Wallace" Extension 1008 states he has criminal and civil papers on her desk. They are not a legal company or law office. The address they give you if you ask for one is the address to the Post Office in Lithonia, Ga. They regularly violate the Fair Debt Credit Reporting Act. They will not validate debts and will threaten repeatedly to have you arrested. They left a voicemail that was threatening and obscene at my stepmother's house (where I don't live) her phone number is 715---------. I called them and asked them to validate the debt in writing and to this day they haven't. They claim I owe a pay day loan to an online pay day loan lender and I haven't taken a pay day loan from the company they claim I owe, nor will I pay the $2,000 they are claiming they will sue me for. They've never sent me anything in writing to notify me how I can dispute the debt within 30 days. They claim they are with a law firm and have violated the F.D.C.P.A. in my case for "Falsely represent that they are an attorney or that their communication is from an attorney" as they claim they are lawyers and "investigators" on the voicemail.
