- D| 6 repliesThis number called me too- something about "fraud". Sounds fraudulent to me......
- RCI also received a call about 30 min ago. Called back, Something about the fraud division. Call from Georgia.
- Brad wiles replies to D| 1 replyI received one today too. Lady was talking about check fraud. Very rude. Said I would have a warrant put out for my arrest if I did not comply. Paid off every loan I ever had.
- jeffCalled me bout some payday loan I never has taken out.
- me tooCalled on the cell phone and left a message claiming to be from the "farming"(? sort of garbled) section. Of course, there was no mention of my name or the actual case/docket number. Legal sounding mumbo-jumbo, but not any real details, just that I needed to respond within 24 hours or they would pass it to my state's authorities. Didn't bother to actually . No caller ID and reverse lookup just says Norcross, GA.
- Cassie| 1 replyCalled left a voicemail, with no info about or who I am, when I called them they proceed to tell me that I have an unpaid payday loan (which yes I have used but always paid!) went to the bank pulled bank statements to just be sure and to have all the ammo I needed, I call them back tell them the info is way off, she then proceeds to tell me the charges will be dropped to local legal departments (which is where I believe they should have come from to begin with?) and that a warrant for my arrest would be sent out the next day. Called local authorities after this phone call were a deputy proceeds to tell me they obviously don't know how the laws work because I would have actually had to commit a crime for a warrant to be put out for my arrest!!! If they continue to call you, call your local police department and file a report on them. Other than that I guess now I just wait and see if a warrant for my arrest is up and going tomorrow morning!!!
- Shannon Lawyer| 7 repliesI received a voicemail from this number stating I had 24 hours to return the call or the "Fraud" departmetn will turn over my account to my state and I would have 48 hours to settle my affairs. Like there would be a warrent issued for my arrest. Is this real? I've never commited any type of fraud in my life! I tried calling back and they it was a recording stating you've reached the fraud department and also said leave you name, phone # and case#. They didn't leave a case # on the voicemail I recevied.

- Andre replies to Shannon Lawyer| 4 repliesI got the same call, and after talking to the woman for a bit, I'm sure it is a scam. I have never commited any type of fraud or any other criminal act !!!! After I got off the phone with the scammers, I started looking up the number & found this post. But what really unnerved me is the amount of personal information they have on me. I'm not sure if i should report this, or even who i would be reporting it to. Any suggestions out there?
- Puhlease replies to Andre| 1 replyYes, this is fraud. They are trying to intimidate you into sending them money for a loan that is either old, or never existed in the first place. They hope that you aren't familiar with FDCPA laws and how the US legal system works. You are never EVER warned before being arrested or being served with court papers. They just show up. And if you did have legitimate debt, you would have received something in the mail.
Check your credit report and place a fraud alert on your account with one of the three major credit bureaus (they will notify the other two bureaus for you) if you're concerned about the amount of personal data they have of yours. And never send money to someone who calls you out of the blue. - Casandra| 2 repliesI recieved the call also and called the police to file a report. I call them back and let them know that the number and address will be tracked if they continue to call me.

- CassB| 1 replyI just received the exact same recorded message, I called back, got a very rude woman who claimed I should hold all questions until she was done "briefing me" then followed this with a "DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?' She couldn't give me any information on the debt but had an alarming amount of personal information on me including the last 4 digits of my bank account. She threatened to have me charged with fraud and theft by deceit. She claimed that there was no restitution sought and went on to give me the results of a background check she ran on me!! I tried to get valid information in order to ascertain whether or not I legitimately had a debt to pay, and she was extremely rude, and basically told me that she didn't know squat about the debt. I told her to turn it over to the state because I wasn't giving anyone access to my money without a legitimate reason. BTW I ran and paid for a check online using the number that called me, it came up under the name of "Law Offices" and no other information was given at all. If they are a real law office, they certainly are an obscure one!

- c| 1 replySome lady called me leaving a message to call her back. I ended calling back to see what was going on and she said I had a payday loan 2 years ago and that I was being charged with a felony for check fraud. She told me her name was Mrs. Mason. So when I went to call her back a little later to ask her for the documents she didn't answer and it went to her voice mail and said something about detective mason with the check fraud division. She gave me direct line number which is 678-999-1316. I'm really hoping this is fraud since I never took out a loan lol

- KelThey just called me, same message. I put a fraud alert on my credit. I know for sure I have no loans out since I just had a bankruptcy less than two years ago and have not had anything since. So if they are legit then they are in violation of the law! So I am going to go with SCAM! And fraud!

- anonymous| 4 repliesI just called the same number that everyone else called. They had left me a message on Wednesday but I did not get it til last night. Everything she said to me and her demeanor was the same as everyone else has reported. I also noted that the time frame for all of us to receive this call was the same. They started on June 18 and they called people thru the 20th. She was extremely rude and although she did have a lot of personal information about me was very vague about everything else. She made some of the exact comments to me as she had to some of the others when I asked questions. Definitely a scam. Thanks to all of you who reported this. It helps when you get a call like this when you can confirm what you feel in your guy. These calls can be very upsetting and convincing. I can see how people would give them what they want.

- anonymous| 2 repliesI received a call yesterday saying I owed $600 for a pay day loan that I never paid. I never signer up for any such loan. The lady gave me a name of Stacey Ford at the end it the call. I asked who did she work for and she said Jackson & Jackson Law Group. I couldn't find any such firm. She kept saying I owe $600 but then said I have to pay $1600. I asked her to clarify and she said the face value of the loan is $600 but if they take me to court they will want $1673.16 for restitution. Kept trying to get me to pay the $600 over the phone. I asked if there were documents with my signature or any proof she said they had enough proof. They we're filing 3 charges against me with the state. If I didn't return her call within a couple of hours they were going to file. A warrant for my arrest would be issued within 72hours. I called the bank to have my statements sent to me since they claim this occurred in 2012 Scam artist.

- marcia| 4 repliesI just received a call from this number. I do have unpaid loans but this happens when you loose a job. Never received anything in the mail. This just scared the shot out of me, but makes me more mad that it is a scam. Wouldn't they just take you to court b/f trying to arrest you?

- ShillKill replies to marciaDebt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter. Yes, you can be sued in civil court, but no one ever warns you first, you just get served.
Mind you, this is not a criminal matter --- however, think about this --- if I have a warrant for someone's arrest, why would I call in advance -- so they can hide? Destroy evidence? Shot me when I enter their property? Simply doesn't make any sense does it? - marciaReported to FTC.
