Collection call

These (unknown) people keep calling me and leaving a very generic message on my phone that this is not a sales call and that I should call them back as soon as possible regarding this very important business matter.

I just tried calling these unknown people and I received a very vague message that their phone lines are having difficulties with their telephone system. The message went on to say that I should now leave them a message and they will return my call as soon as possible.

Who are these people and why are they attempting to be so sneaky?

I received a call from these people every day.  It has always been a very generic computer call stating it is not a sales call but a important business matter.  It is very annoying.  Today, they called and an actual person left me a message stating it was from the law office of Brent Stamps.  It was from a Ms. Jones.

i dnot know who th heck it is but want to know!! Annoying people!!

I googled Brent D Stamps and he is a lawyer, but office phone # is different than what showed up on my caller ID.  I did not think you could use someone else name, is that against the law?????  A women left a message and her name is Kimberly, she wanted us to call back on the # that the caller ID showed 6782507180..  Who is This??????????

They also "represent" an attorney Brent D. Stamps. He's an actual attorney but the agency uses the attorney tactic when dealing with people.
If you recieve a call from 678-250-7180 they're calling from "the law office of Brent D. Stamps". If they call from another number, they're calling from Patient Accounts Bureau or Hollis Cobbs. They are awful to deal with. I had to file a complaint with the FTC because they threatend to sue me and seize my property. I have yet to be sued--

Receive calls from this # daily... no one is willing to provide information as to what the call is in regard to; I will not return calls to those who will not provide basic information.

These people are a collection agency. They work in collections for the medical industry. You probably had or have some medical tests or other sort of medical bills that they contend you owe. Check and see if you have any collections notices form Patient Accounts Bureau. This attorney obviously has lent his name to them or represents them for a fee.

You may have some past due medical bills. They are a collection agency. If you do not get anything in writing from them, I would not waste my time trying to contact them, you will only continue to get frustrated.

Yea Ignore these peeps!  waste of time and money.  They like to intimidate and try to make you feel like you will get butt - raped in prison if you don't pay!

Some favorite tactics are tell them you are bob blah. not bob bleh. who they are looking for.  ask them random questions like what is there favorite color.  Tell them you are glad they call.  You didn't realize the "home" allowed incoming calls.  and your lonely!  then follow up with what are you wearing?  Use your imagination people!

Someone called a relative in another state and asked for me. The relative stated that I was unavailable and said he would take a message. The woman identified herself as from the law office of Attorney Brent Stamps. She said to give me a message that this was about an unpaid bill. She gave the amount of the bill and the name of the medical facility due. She said this is an attempt to have me contact them before the debt becomes a civil suit.

So they violated several laws here: They are not allowed to disclose a debt to a third party, nor give an amount, nor the nature of the debt, nor threaten a lawsuit. I have filed a complaint with the FTC. When I call the number given (678-250-7180), there's a recording stating something like the phone is broken and to leave a message with your name and number. I did not, of course.

This company calls my job number everyday and leaves a generic message. I have a home phone but no voicemail so they have my work number. If I had not goggled this number I would have neve known who or what they are. It just says a legal matter If it is all that legal why not send something in the mail or identify who they represent... This could be an item that your are disputing who knows.

Today I was finally fed up with the generic messages being left, just like everyone else here.  (I usually don't call machines back, especially with an idiot ex-husband being a loose (financial) canon. So I called the number back and some effeminate little sweetie answered the phone "Law offices of Brent D. Stamps."  I stated that I am receiving automated calls from this number and the little imp says, "So?"  I then said I wanted it stopped and he went into his spill about me owing 59.00 to a hospital.  I said you'll get it when you get it, now remove my number from that machine (I am leaving out the expletives here).  And he started laughing like a fairy!  I am furious with these people. Not what I would call professionals.  Is there any recourse I have against them if they continue to call me?

I have had this happen for months. till one day at 9 in the morning I call them back and went off on them about calling me  and asking if there was anybody to help pay my bills I replied (No), do you have a job (no) how long have you been out of a job (answer here)(getting even more angry at the moment) than asking me if my husband can pay it (I growled at her) (NO I DON'T have a husband)  you think just because I'm female I need a husband to pay my bills, I told them  to stop calling my phone and what do they do they still keep calling. the female I yelled at wasn't very nice to me and when I went to hang up she threated that they would SUE me

I have been receiving calls as well. I do have past medical debt that I know I owe and am now able to start taking care of it, so I called back. I know exactly how much I owe for said service...they said I owed more than ten times the amount to the tune of over $8,000.00!!!! I actually laughed and laughed. I said send me something in writing.....he said...we have...I said, no, you haven't...he said yes we have.....I have never recieved anything except from the hospital.....I am not paying anything unless I have it in writing...and I am never going to pay ten times more than I owe when I know these guys when legit only pay 4-6 cents on the dollar to buy debts. NEVER pay anything to anyone over the phone!

Call the Georgia Bar for Consumer Complaints against any lawyer in Georgia at
1-800-334-6365 and insist they send you a form to further lay out your complaint.
With two family members in the Ga. Bar, I can assure you this scares them more than
any FTC complaint.
His name is Brent Derrett Stamps and if you google "georgia bar association" you will
see the Ga. Bar's official site. Go to "consumer", I think, and then scroll down on the
right to find more information. The site will go into the unethical things that this guy
has done. The state bar in which a lawyer holds his "ticket", is his bread and butter. Nothing
else, including lawsuits, scares them. Just us. Getting your "ticket stamped" in one state, ruins you
for all other state Bars.

It is 02/06/2009 and I just had the same message left from Miss Jones.  She used one number and left another.  Said she was with Brent Stamps!!

My messages are always "Autumn calling from the law offices of Brent D Stamps".  I too have never gotten anything in writing from them.  They never leave a reference number or anything, so I have no idea what medical bill it pertains to.  I'm glad to know that I'm not alone with these automated annoying calls!
