I got a call today from this number, also said they were "Inspire Atlanta" and running a clothing drive.  They said their web site was inspireatlanta.com, but that site is for a company called Inspire Health. The caller said they are a non-profit organization for the homeless.  Does anyone know if there really is an "Inspire Atlanta" doing a clothing drive?  Are they legit?

It is not Inspire Atlanta, but it is NSPIRE Atlanta - the correct web site is nspireatlanta.com.  NSPIRE is a faith - based community service program reaching out to all people, families, youth, and children with many positive, life - changing programs.

The non profit company really exist.  Their website is www.NspireAtlanta.com

The letter N, not In.  When choosing a website, it depends on what's available and you have the choice to add .com or .org

they have volunteers helping out to make calls.  They are trying to help ohers less fortunate.  Let you heart guide you in just giving without doubt.

The number that Peter Pann received, (678) 405-2982 is actually what I have found out to be a non-legit group that claims to be a non-profit organization taking clothes for a pickup drive by the name of Cure Clothing. NSPIRE IS a legit organization but their number is not (678) 405-2982. Cure Clothing apparently came to our house and picked up our clothes but never left a call, receipt, or acceptable form of documentation that proved what they were doing. Also, we have tried calling them numerous times with no answer.

Final word, NSPIRE is a legit organization, Cure Clothing Pick-Up is not.

Please correct me if I am wrong (as it is always possible) but from a good bit of research I have currently concluded to these facts.

My taxes have paid for an awful lot of welfare for people who have never worked a day, and for generations haven't worked.  I don't imagine there is any real reason for them to be alive, frankly.

What does it matter if it is genuine or not?  They are all freeloading on the goodwill of simple people who work hard and pay their taxes.  The best thing you can do for a homeless person is ignore him or her.  When they start to starve maybe they will take a job at McDonald's or work on a street crew---or as my mom would say, before taking charity she would scrub toilets.

The caller id number was 678-405-2982 that called to verify they could stop by the next day to pick up the clothing items.  I returned a call to 678-298-2073 (which is the number from the nspire website for pickup) and was told that they did have a pick up in my area on that day.  If the -2982 number is not legit, how is it tied to the -2073 which is suppose to be legit?

    Tired of being called
Called by new number (678-405-9635), but stated they were Inspire or NSPIRE(?) to pick up clothes for homeless.  Would be in my neighborhood?  Caller ID  was for 678-405-9635, Clothing Pick Up.  Is -9635 the same as -2982?  Sure does sound the same.

Freeloaders trying to take your used clothes? So, you would rather throw out your things then try to help someone who is working for change.  Hope you aren't my neighbor.

NSpireAtlanta.org IS an available URL. It may be that the people applying for this did not know about the .org domain...you do NOT have to be a nonprofit to have a .org domain anyway.

The pastor of this faith-based group, started in Gwinnett, is Gregg Kennard. You will find the most info about him at GreggKennard.com.

I am the executive director of the NSPIRE Atlanta program. My personal cell number is 678-462-3335. Call me with any concerns or questions.

Please note that we have around 25,000 people who commit to donate, clothes and household items per month. About 1/2 of the work force between callers and truck drivers are our clients. They want to do a good job. Sometimes a ball gets dropped, or their PR skills are not world-class. We are giving them an opportunity, a hand "up."

Thank you for your patience as they are trying to restore their lives. They are truly fantastic people, worthy of your suppport and generoisty.

    Thank you!

Same thing, got the call, and decided to check them out. The website has a page in which they talk about "the program". In that section, it says that they train&hire homeless people, they call them clients and as seen in the posts here they also call themselves clients. After they are trained they give them a job as telemarketers for "a charitable clothing pick up company". This seems to agree with a previous posting saying that nspire is legit, but the clothing company is/may be not.
The postings of the clients saying what a wonderful organization nspire is, do not ad credibility, but I guess they could just be trying to be nice to the org that has help them.
I think I will continue taking my out of season clothes to the place where I normally take them just to be safe and get my tax deducible receipt, and there is always Goodwill for furniture and other stuff.

I agree with you.  Whoever wrote the other comment is cold hearted. Cause there are people that do need help.  Not everyone has been as fortunate and people do fall on hard times.
