Got a call from this number 2 months ago.  The caller ID says "Pick Up". They said they were a local charity looking for donations.  So the sucker I am, I donated some clothes, etc.  I was told they would leave me a receipt for tax purposes.  Then they called back the night before to make sure I remembered they were coming the next day, and they again told me they would leave a tax receipt.  I put the box of stuff on my front porch.  I did not see them come to pick it up, but I looked for a receipt and there wasn't one!  I was mad, so I tried calling this number back numerous times, no answer.  I also looked up their name on the internet and couldn't find a legit company!  I was scammed.  Don't donate anything to them!!

Same thing ahappened to me.  They just called me again TODAY and I told them I thought they were a scam.  They assured me that they were legit and that they would e-mail me a receipt, but I told them that they have been saying that since August 8th.  ( Today is December 3rd ).

This company has promised me a receipt since Aug. 8th 2007.  I have yet to receive one for the estimated $500.00 worth of clothing, Language tapes, and kids play sets, and furniture I donated.  I have been calling them but only got an answer one time.  They rest of the times, they call me and say they will e-mail me a receipt.  I have told them I will donate more items IF I receive the receipt.  Hasn't happened yet. I just don't want someone to make a profit by selling my things when I wanted them to go to people who really need them and can't afford them.  I could have a garage sale if I wanted the $.

I keep getting calls from this number with the ID name PICK UP. Noone is ever on the other end and you can never call them back and get an answer. This happens all day and into early evening. It's getting annoying to say the least. I was told that this type of call is to track when you actually pick up your phone. That information is sold to telemarketers so they can call at times that you are more likely to be home and answer. The phone company tells me there is nothing I can do about the calls.

Those of you wanting tax receipts from NSPIRE don't waste your time. They are not a 501(c3) organization. I'm an IRS Enrolled Agent and have checked and they are not.  I've already turned them into IRS and will also be doing so to the State of GA.

I received a call from them today. Like a dummy I said sure I would donate some things. They said, that they would pickup on May 14th. And I also think they said they would call before pickup. They already knew my address, which I did not like.

I really don't care about the receipt, but I am concern, what if they want to case your home to see about breaking in.

Thanks.  I got lots of calls too.  Mostly ignored them.  Yesterday i did pick up and promised a donation,  however not now!  P

Got a receipt last year from this "company" and when I took it to the tax place (H and R block) was told this was not a relible company and could not use it. So much for any tax credit...

Received a call last week from "Nspire" and left items out this past Monday after checking out the website I was referred to.  Thought it would be good to donate directly to homeless people who were being given a chance to get back on their feet.  What a hoax!  I plan on giving only to Goodwill or thrift stores I know going forward.

Please let me know if your statement is accurate. This is NOT a legitimate charitable organization, is this correct?

We've donated several times to NSPIRE. According to the receipts that we've gotten from them, their tax id number is 58-2468623.

The tax ID just given is correct.  This thread really ought to be deleted because it is hurting what I think is a worthy charity.  You can check out nspireatlanta.com if you wish.

I've had no problems with Nspire.  The one time I didn't get a receipt I called and they mailed me one.?   But I will now investigate more into them to make sure it's a true charity.

I also have had no problem.  They ALWAYS LEAVE a receipt and come as promised.

I got a receipt per e-mail the day before PU but they never picked up?!

It isn't realistic to think that any one person could list all of the reasons why you should avoid the charming people at Nspire, or all of the reasons you might wish to see them out of business.

Yes, after many calls from them I have been wanting to check out this company because I have a lot of bed sets to donate and want to make sure they went to an org. that could use them.  After reading so much negative feedback, I went to charitynavigator.org (rates charities) AND THEY ARE NOT LISTED!!!!  They do have a web site but anyone can create one (their's ends with . com which makes you suspicious).  I am calling Clark Howard (consumer guru in Atlanta) at 404-892-8227 to give Nspire the benefit of the doubt but if they are a scam all &*$% will break loose!  Will give update.
