He has been harrassing me as well!  I'm filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy so I told him that he can contact my lawyer but he insists that the bankruptcy will not take care of this outstanding payday loan.  I don't think that's true because all of my other debt is included but also threatened that I could get arrested along with the people I gave as references when applying for the loan.  He said that he is going to contact my supervisor which really makes me nervous becuase I work in a very professional office and my boss is not going to appreciate a call like this at all!  Are they really allowed to do this?

I received a call from this number and threatened me with legal action.

hey i think they are doing right if we have taken the loan then we need to pay back if we dont then we have to face some issues like this .. so they are doing good job in resolving the case with us...

Caller by the name of "Jack" identified his agency as Moragn Associates (the spelling is my guess because "Jack" said he could not spell the company name). "Jack" attempted to shake down my client, failing to follow lawful debt collection protocl and law.

Beware!

ask Jack to give you the name of the orignal creditor and ask Jack to send you proof that he owns the debt.  If Jack can prove that he owns the debt and you know you had a loan with the orginal creditor - it's ligit!  However, 99.9% of the time they can not.  These people are in business to get your money.  Never provide payment for anything over the phone and without proof

They will not call your supervisor. Did this person say their name was Attorney Jack? This person has been calling my husband and I also saying that he requested for a payday loan for $300 and they are taking him to court to get their money back. I had him read me the affidavit he supposedly had in front of him, and when he was done he asked for our address, ss#, employer, etc. but I said no and hung up. He called right back and my husband told him pretty much how its going to be, and we didn't hear back from them for a year, then today they call back saying the same thing. it's a scam, if someone were really to take you to court, they would go ahead and serve the papers instead of harassing you about it.
