It did not leave messege. I was worried it was some kind of scam or bill collector so I called back. It asks for the credit card account number, so i made one up, and to my suprise it didnt reconize. I figured I would enter it, then i figured "for security purposes" it would ask for my social. But nope

they called my home and cell....one of my credit card companies or gas car companies must have sold these as I never give my cell # to any company except those I do direct business with...
I called the number and it said welcome to credit card services....
They must be marketing some kind of service...
I hung up.

Ok,,,,I called the number but did not give my credit card...I waited and got a rep that said they were Bank of America and wanted to know my account number...I said no I wont give that out and called the customer service number 1-800-732-9194(on the back of my card).After giving my proper ID and other ident stuff I asked the rep who is 678-797-7000?He said its one of their internal departments that try to contact people if there is a problem.Sure enough he looked up my account and it was on hold because when I tried to make a cash withdraw I put in the wrong pin and they automatically froze my account.I got it released right away.Had I not called to find out what this number was I would have been very upset when I sent to use my card.I got no warning that they froze my account.
I would advise anyone who gets a call from 678-797-7000 to call the 1-800 number on the back of your Bank America card asd ask whats up with your account as they wont leave a message to say its on hold or other info.

this REALLY IS bank of america.  They are calling because there is an issue involving your account.

not everybody calling you is trying to rip you off.

Got a call from the same number, they verified an action I initiated on my CC account. Only took 5 seconds.  Appears to be genuine BOA.

I got a call from 302-731-1166 and it said unknown on the ID so i let it go and it went to the machine and then i listened and it was a automated voice saying they were from Bank of America and that the specific card (they said the last four digits on the card) has suspect activity on it and to call 678-797-7000 or the number on the back of the card. Although automated i didn't want to call that number at first so i called the 800 number on the card got a rep and was telling him the situation, well as i was speaking with him my house phone rang and it was 678-797-7000 and the ID said card services, i told the guy i was talking to on my blackberry and he said that it is another branch of B of A that help with outstanding issues with cards, i didnt pick up the house phone i continued to talk to the guy on my blackberry. Then about 15 seconds later i hear the "beep beep" of an incoming call on my blackberry it was 678-797-7000 calling my cell as i continued to talk to the original guys i started with i grew tired off hearing the "beep beep" on my blackberry i took the phone away from my ear to hit drop the incoming call and stay with current call, well instead i accidentally hit drop current and answer incoming and the guy ask for me and said there was an outstanding issues with my card. So long story short now that i knew the number was legit due to the other rep telling me, the new rep from 678-797-7000 helped me fix the issue and handled the problem. So they might call with two different numbers but don't be alarmed it's Bank of America. The only info they asked me for was my DOB, last four card digits and last four of social so nothing that a scammer would ask they would want more detailed info

I told him I'd rather call my cards direclty than give him my info. I looked up the number on google and I found this site. One person stated B of A. I called the number on the back of my card. I had just made a large purchase that had been declined because it was seen as suspicious activity on my account. There was now a hold on my account. So it turned out to be a legit call.

Didnt rcv a msg. Called number back and after 10min spoke with rep (Paula). who stated she was with BoA. She requested my SSI which I declined to give out over the phone. I do not have a BoA card so this number and service is very suspicious. Take caution in giving information to this service

Having absolutely no business now or in the past with B of A, and my cell number being totally personal and private - no bank or business having that info, only my land line number, why the hell would B of A or anyone else be phoning a new number I've never publicized or provided to them?

B of A is obviously locking up those who DO have cards with them because the feds have kicked them where it hurts, finally.

It IS Bank of America.  Oddly enough - we don't have any credit with BoA at all, and the first person I spoke to had no idea why they would be calling me.  I had made a purchase online with our Fidelity (FIA) card, and asked him if it could be about that.  He said "no...." but transferred me to the fraud department anyway.  Long story short, it was about the FIA card and they needed to verify the transaction.  The asked for my ssn (I declined) so I gave them only billing address and phone number, then verified the charge.  No worries.

It really is Bank of America... they wanted to verify that a transfer of funds that was just placed on my account was actually done by me... which it was... when i told him it was not fraudulent he said they just wanted to make sure because i had never done it before... and that if something fraudulent did happen with my account i would not be held responsible because i am 100 percent protected... the call was not a scam... i didn't have to give him any information... but if you do miss a call and you call the number back never give them any kind of information... call the regular number instead just to be sure

Thanks Dave for the info. I'm glad I called the credit card company.  Nice to know someone is looking out for our interest these days with all this fraud and identity theft.

Called my cell phone, and then 2 minutes later called my house phone.

Probably got the numbers by name off of some list.

Bof A Fraud services--they are calling to have you call back to verify something with your account. In my case, I had just initiated wire transfer online to my wife's bank for her college loan in Japan. Activity would have been frozen had I not called back-- I advise you do--this one's legit.
