Person said name was Linda Artwood at artwoodlinda@gmail.com. She said she was purchasing my table for someone dear to her as a surprise. And she was worker in a rural area for Turner Construction and had a moving company to pickup table and that she would be paying with PayPal. I wrote her back that it was Cash Only. Ask her why she could not come look at it herself! Have not got back a reply yet.  Her phone number is 678-805-6502

I come to find out that this is probably a paypal scam.  Here's the email they sent:

I received a text message from her asking to email her at Artwoodlinda@gmail.com.  She said to respond through email only because she is not a good texter.  Her phone number is the same as you listed it.  I found it strange that she said not to text her, when she texted me in the first place.  She said her email is not going through craigslist.  I suspected a scam, so I googled her and found this.

I've gotten the same message. She is a scammer. Do not reply to her. Report her to the authorities.

Same thing happened to me via text  message, she wrote me to mail her at that gmail address because she did not want to talk on the phone and she wasn't good at texting. When asked her to call me if she was really interested no reply. How can I report this?

Same email. Same text. I advise changing password to emails you communicated with. You never know. Also. Block that number.

Exact same message on a couch I had for sale.

Just got it, thank goodness I googled it.

Same messages - when I replied that it was a cash sale only - got this reply almost instantly...

She was going to have a hauler service come and pickup the stuff and pay with paypal.

Scam Scam Scam

Thought I would finish this thread with the "outcome" of the scam.  Same text, then email, same exact story.  I sent her my paypal email before my wife found this thread.  Here's the scam.  We had agreed on $1,500 for the set; I get an email (reportedly from Paypal) that $2,268 was deposited in my paypal; and to gain access to the money; I need to send a money order to the shipping company for the $768, she's sorry she didn't tell me about it, but the hauler wants to be paid upfront - so she needs me to pay the hauler with her money; and once the hauler receives the money (evidenced by putting the money order # into the "paypal" system) - the money will be released to me.  

I had to cancel my Paypal account (paypal advises your email address is essentially your account #); and now need to watch for general identify theft since she has my name, work address, work phone #'s, etc.  Stupid me.  I'm not a young kid - and it smelled a little...  scammers suck.

Stupid scammers. I received the same message too about a couch I was selling. So i decided to goggle her/him before anything. But i guess i have to change my password to my email account now. Wish u the best and hope she doesn't take your info and use it for id theft.
