I don't answer calls I don't reconize, I looked up the number on the internet and it is an unlisted number. If it was a legal business, why would it be unlisted. Don't answer the phone if this number is on your caller ID.

I also do not answer calls from unknown sources.  Very frustrating when it only rings four times and does not even go to the answerphone.  I have now blocked this number.

1st call from them today, and I did not answer, thought I'd look it up on Google first. Google listed this site, and I have the same fellings as those above.

Budman, thank you for that info.  I just ignored a call from 678-846-0512/Gaffa and it led me here.  Your info is useful.  I did the same thing as you.  Last year I gave to Police and Fire thru phone solicitations and have regretted it ever since because they must have sold my number.  Pretty soon I was getting phone calls all the time from all over the area.  Now I know to keep ignoring this one!

I think Gaffa is Georgia Fire Fighters Association. I donated to the police at the beginning of the year. I then started getting calls from the firefighters. I think that this is the number that they called me from.

Calls 7 days a week and have gotten these for 3 long months. If anyone knows who they are and how to get them to stop, please let me know!!!

We have been getting calls from this number for months.  When I called them back, I got a recorded message, asking me to leave my phone number and a customer-service rep. would return my call.  I didn't leave my number.  One time, I answered the call and told them to stop calling me, and the person hung up on me.

The number called and the caller ID said GAFFA.  same 678-846-0512.  I also donated to the fraternal order of police maybe a month ago.  So far only one call from this number.  I usually dont answer calls I dont know but with so many friends out of town I figured maybe they were calling from someone elses house, when I answered no one said anything and then it just went dead with that beep beep beep as if they hung up on me after I answered.  I dont know but it does not sit well with me.  If they did sell the number then they can forget any future donations from me and I willg et my number changed tomorrow and get it unlisted.  If they call again the number will be blocked.  But I will def. keep this site on my favorites just to keep anyone updated on this and if you guys could do the same it would be awesome

went to a reverse phone detective website.  Wanted to go ahead and buy the info to be able to find outthe full report but in all honesty has me too paranoid to do so.  

Also as I was reading some of the posts out loud to my Boyfrind he also mentioned how he has also dontaed to the fire fighters as well.  So... yea, whats going on?

Despite being on the Do Not Call list I got so fed up with all these unwanted calls (including from 678-846-0512) I found this neat little unit that can be programmed to either block or send unwanted calls to your answering machine without your phone ever ringing! You can add as many numbers as you want and even program it to have ALL 800, 888, 877, & 866 numbers dumped straight into the answering machine. I’ve had it about three weeks and love it. Mine was for firemen.  Wanted a pledge on the spot told her that I didn't do that.  She got king of Pi**y, so I thanked her and said goodbye.

they call repeatedly, refuse to take me off their list.  They claim to be calling for the Georgia State Firefighters Association; when I asked GSFA is this was true, they said they have no knowledge or relationsship with GFFA.  I have filed a complaint with the National Fraud Bureau and will see what happens.
I asked the rep who called me to explain why the GSFA didn't know them, asked who was lying to me, his response was 'Not us', so i guess GAFFA's story is that the firefighters in Georgia are lying so-and-so's.

Since they call for "non-profit" organizations they don't have to abide by the no-call listing.  I get these calls ALL the time, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.  After 9PM at night, before 8AM, even on Sundays.  Giving doesn't stop it either, they just call again and say it's been 3 whole months since you gave.  I get calls for Sheriff's department, Firefighters, injured police.  I'm not a cold hearted person, but I can't give to everyone!  Don't these city workers have insurance policies for when they get injured?  Don't my tax dollars pay for those things?  I feel used and abused!  I can't stop the calls.  I just don't answer anymore.  I'm about ready to disconnect my landline to get rid of the incessant money begging callers.

My daughter recceived a call from this number. She told them I was still at work, and asked who was calling.  The lady on the line said to tell me it was a courtesy call.  This is odd, because I recently donated to the Sheriff department.  I would not donate over the phone, I have them mail the donation request to me.  It looked legit.  But I did not recognize this number on my caller ID.  I took the suggestion above and blocked the number.
