You're right. This scam operation calls from many numbers, most of which have a Georgia area code and have many complaints filed on 800Notes.

Here's all the information on these crooks: http://budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/cmc_recovery.htm

As Bud Hibbs' report indicates, these crooks are actually in Buffalo, New York, operate under many dopey aliases (CMC Recovery, Claims America, RSI, National Service Processors, etc.) and falsely represent themselves as being physically located in Georgia.

There are two Georgia addresses associated with this scam. One address in Georgia -- 5295 Stone Mountain Hwy, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 -- is actually the location of a Mail Boxes, Etc. storefront. In other words, the RSI/Claims America scam's Stone Mountain "office" is just a rented private mailbox.

The other Georgia address used by this scam is:

RSI Claims Process Services
2483 Heritage Village, Suite 16-324
Snellville, GA 30278
(404) 287-0204

Unsurprisingly, "Suite 16-324" is not a suite but another rented private mailbox at The UPS Store in the Heritage Village shopping center:

The UPS Store
Heritage Village Shopping Center
2483 Heritage Village
Snellville, GA 30278
Phone:  (770) 979-7011
Fax:  (770) 979-5711
http://www.theupsstore.com/locations/locdet.asp?strCenterNum=MBE1063

So don't let these scammers worry you. It's a handful of petty grifters hiding out in Buffalo, NY trying to swindle you out of your money.  Ignore their illegal threats and report their extortion attempts to the following:

1) File a complaint online with the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov  Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by an extortionist over the phone and give them all the details.

2) File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.

3) These grifters maintain rented private mailboxes in Georgia and represent themselves as calling from Georgia, so email or call Sid Barrett, Senior Assistant Georgia Attorney General at sid.barrett@law.state.ga.us or 404-656-3202 with details of what happened.

4) These crooks are operating in New York and are associated with this address: 3835 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14226, so file a complaint with the New York New York Attorney General at http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/complaints.html or 800-771-7755

5) File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org

6) File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

Update:

Don't bother contacting Sid Barrett at the Georgia Attorney General's office; he's just referring victims of this scam to the Georgia Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs.

Called saying they have a claim against me, wouldn't tell me what for, threatened a supenia (spelling?) I told her to mail it and she gave an address that belongs to my dead Dad!  I hung up.  She called back and left threatening message she was going to turn this over to the Sherrif to take care of. She was beligerant, which was the first clue they were fake.

I got a call for my husband on 2/26.  I called an attorney friend who told me to ignore it (the burden of proof is on them IF any court documents were filed to begin with).  To be safe, I had contacted the three credit reporting agencies, as well as the Chase Manhattan (the account they claim was defaulted) and there is nothing bad in my file.   Today I got a call at work (I never called them from home, they must have used caller ID to get the work number because I never gave that out either)  Today's call was from this number, the last one was from a 401 number.  Anyway, I told them to go ahead and send this to court, and the burden of proof is on them as we never had those accounts.   They'll have to find me first though, because the address they claim to have attempted contact at was my husbands childhood home where he hasn't lived for over 20 years.  I did not contact the police department to file a report, but I will when I get home.   First of all, with all the privacy practices in the US these days, I can't even call and talk to a person about my husband's credit card accounts unless I'm on his account... period.  What's this woman doing telling me his business?  I just hope they don't continue calling me at work.

MY EXPERIENCE WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. FOR ALL THE NEGATIVE REPORTS THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN GETTING, I HAVE SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK. FOR YEARS, I HAD BEEN DUCKING A DEFAULT ACCT. WITH AN EXTREMELY HIGH BALANCE. WHEN RSI CALLED, IT WAS AT THE POINT WHERE A CIVIL JUDGEMENT WAS ABOUT TO BE ENTERED. I KNOW, I HAD TWO ALREADY AND I KNOW THE PROCESS. WITH THIS PARTICULAR ACCT. RSI ACTUALLY HELPED TO GET MY BALNACE TO OVER 50% LOWER THAN WHAT IT WAS. I FEEL THAT ALL THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK COMES FROM INDIVIDUALS WHOM DO NOT "EVER" WANT TO PAY THEIR BILLS. AND THAT'S YOUR PEROGATIVE, BUT PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON THIS COMPANY. THEY MAY BE YOUR LAST ALLY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. SO, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY THEY CAN GIVE YOU TO TAKE CARE OR YOUR DEBT...

Congratulations, Roger Ellis. Your fake report wins this month's award for Most Obvious Fake Report Posted By A Sleazy Debt Collector!

I was going to give the award to the fake post you posted above under the name 'Richard Glass, Attorney' until I read this idiotic lie about how your debt collection scam is helping consumers out of debt.

Let me know if an award certificate will fit into your fake office address at the UPS Store, and I mail right away.

I got a call from them this evening. (What lawyer calls past 5?) They called for my step dad, who lives in another state, and is not associated with my number at all. Roger Ellis A.K.A. Richard Glass, Attorney, had his offical secratary Jamie Clark say that he had to call back or he could end up in court for a complaint filed against him. Seems offical to me......
