When you call this one back, you apparently get forwarded to 888-301-4138. It will ring a few times, then go to an "Out of Service" message. But it gets better. If you stay on the line, it goes to a "Lines are temporarily busy message and from there to a "The person you are calling is unavailable" message. I also got a call from 435-275-4465 with the same results.

This phone number is from a man representing American Peridocials Services (magazine company). When I called the corporate offices, they said he did not work for them. It is a phishing scam to get credit card information.

    mag hater!
this is the third company to call me saying that they are receiving calls in my neighborhood about people not getting their magazines. and they just wanted to update my information. they did not say which company they were from but they did have ALL MY INFORMATION!!! (my job, my marital status my address and obviously phone number) they then connected me to the "supervisor" to say that he did a good job. it was at that point I was able to stop them I asked what company he was from, he said a different company than the others I have had issues with and i told him as such. . any time they say things, if you are receiving magazines, they know it. they want the updated info. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!! this is how I got scammed out of hundreds of dollars. I eventually contacted the Better Business Bureau and the company settled for nothing. if you are getting calls from these numbers talk to them ask to be taken off their calling list. do not ignore them because they will just keep calling you. I learned the hard way.

They have called several times from 678-935-7298.  Their company name always changes and is not the company that I originally ordered from.  I ordered Time magazine many years ago from National Readers Service and I received free magazines for starting a subscription.  Obviously I got scammed which I have to live with.

I paid off my Time subscription 5-6 years ago, but they still call to tell me I owe them more money.  Two years after I had paid off the original total, I started getting new charges from them.  I closed my bank account to stop the charges since you cannot get a hold of anyone.  They called and gave me some runaround saying I had agreed to a renewal and the original total was just the initial amount.  I asked them to produce evidence of this via audio recording and they were never able to get it (of course).  Apparently they decided to put my account on hold for "economic hardship".  What a bunch of BS.  I've told them to take me to court or to make a collections company call me.  Of course they never will because they know they are a scam.

The guy, Kyle, on the phone today was extremely rude to me so I actually look forward to them calling back.

I don't know how to get them to stop calling. I logged a complaint with the BBB and my state attorney's office, but they can't do anything since the numbers are bogus.

I fell for this 3 years ago  and they signed me up for a bogus magazine subscription where they were charging me almost $100 a month for 2 magazines. They I canceled 2 days later (I had 7 days to cancel). Didn't hear from them again for almost a year when they called and told me my account was delinquent and I owned them tons of money. When I told them I had canceled, they said they had no record of it. I could either pay for the entire subscription for like 2 years (I think somewhere around $780) or get a "buy out" and pay them $250. All the while they are telling me they have already contacted debt collectors and all this stuff about my credit. I was like 20 and had no idea what was going on. I ended up paying them the $250
They just called me again tonight... I guess this is 2-3 years after the whole incident. They called and said they needed to update my information for my magazine subscription. When I asked what subscription the girl listed off like 8 different magazines. I told her I didn't have any current magazines and she said, "Oh, your accThe only reason I'm not freaking out about this is because since then I have gotten married (changed my last name) and closed all the credit cards/debit cards associated with this when it initially happened. Hope this helps some how. ount shows that it is still active and you still have a couple months." I told her I wanted to cancel and she said she would have to transfer me to her supervisor. Not before I updated my address... (I'm an idiot). The address she had on file was the address of where I lived when everything happened to begin with, 3 years ago.
So, when she was transferring me I hung up. The number immediately called back and I didn't answer. My husband ended up calling the number back where the man who answered apologized and said he would remove us from the list and delete all our information.

My boyfriend fell for this one unfortunately. They called claiming they had been sending a "free trial subscription" to his old address (which he no longer lives at). Said since he didnt cancel in the "necessary time" that he was locked in contract and had to provide them with an updated card number. They even had his old card number (one that was no longer active). He argued with them on the phone for a long time and kept telling them he didnt remember signing up for anything. They claimed he owed some insane amount but then "so kindly" offered to take the cost down to 39.99 a month for him for like 3 years!?. I believe they asked him a few personal questions such as marital status etc. He told me he had to ask the lady several times to slow down .. that she was a "fast talker". He ended up feeling as if he had no choice because they told him they would take legal action if he didnt pay. So he gave his info. : / He cancelled his card first thing this morning. From the research I have done.. it seems like this company works under SEVERAL names. They told him they were CRS (Coastal Reader Services or something like that)

They did the same to me. I canceled whatever four months ago and i just got a call today from this number saying it WASNT canceled and he was being really rude as i was getting annoyed about why wasnt it canceled and why cant i cancel now?! He pretty much when over everything and had me agree to the monthly fees and was during the recording process and i accdiently ended the phone call and tried to call the number back and its dead. Do you think they'll still charge my account?? I checked my CC right after the call and all i saw was      MAGAZINE 8002470036 charge of $5.00 pending as of today.
I hope they won't charge me now that ive done some research on this number and seeing your note and others this must be a fraud!!!

These idiots call every now and again talking about updating my info. I already knew not to tell them anything even tho they already know too much as is.  When I asked this guy whats the name of the company and what magazines are supposed to be getting mailed to me he hung up on me. Hopefully they dont call anymore but if they do I sure dont mind telling them off.
