- DeanRepeat calls everyday with messages left although no info what its regarding or what company shes from. Callers message said her name was Cynthia Walker. Caller ID was COA. 800 number she left for me to call, 800-937-0172. I called this 800 and 678 number to find an answering machine with no company info, etc. I have a good feeling this is some kind of scam artist for after looking at 678-937-0486 ( coa ), who else could it be?

- BIG "O"They called from 678-937-0944. I called it back and reached a young lady and asked for Cynthia Walker. She was hesitant to put that person on and asked if I was the person's name on the phone. I gave her the name and told her after she didn't see anything for that name, that this was a wrong number and to remove it from their call list. She acknowledged and I asked her what was "COA". She says it is Collectron of Atlanta. They must be some type of collection agency.....

- kendall m. replies to Chicago Suspect| 1 replyThis IS NOT A SCAM...if you owe money to an apartment complex, or a loan they send your account to a collection agency...Carter Young is a collection agency and they are not a SCAM....you people must owe someone or a business because I moved out my apartment and broke my lease and my apartment complex sent my invoice bill to Carter Young a collection agency so people pay what you owe or contact the agency...
- Slim replies to kendall m.A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
