I've gotten calls from a guy named 'Sean' saying that I owe him $499 for a yellow pages ad and he wants authorization to send an invoice. Doc says we never ordered a yellow pages ad, and this guy has called at least 12 times. When I asked him for his phone number he gave me 1866-247-1823 and that number doesn't work either. The 681 number is what comes up on caller id.

**SCAM SCAM SCAM*** A caller called stating he was from Yellow Local Directory and asked if our company wanted to renew our yellow page ad. Wanting mailing address to bill an invoice for $499.00. He did not have names of authorized individuals at our company and did not have the presidents name. When we asked to have the ad cancelled, he stated he would have a cancellation number given to us.. put us on hold, transfered the call to a woman named Diane. Once call was transfered she stated she was quality control and this call would be recorded. Sounded normal for a telemarkerter call, however once i started asking question and refused to give my last name, she became upset. I have heard in the news recently about these scams coming from "Yellow Pages." I believe this is a scam and if you get a call from this number I suggest telling them you have contacted the police. This caller seemed to stop the call after call, once i called the law enforcement.

A guy named "Sean" called us saying we owe them $499 and that we were enlisted on the Yellow Pages Directory. We asked to cancel it and he said we had to cancel it that day. He was extremely pushy and suspicious. He also did not sound any bit professional. He then transferred us to a woman named Diane. She asked for me to speak clearing, for she was going to record me. That made me suspicious, so i told her i wasn't going to do it and so she told me to hang up, so i did and Sean called back right after. This caller calls multiple times. I suggest contacting the police and do not give out any information and be careful when you are speaking.

I received a call from "Shawn" as well stating "corporate told him to call me" to provide the cancellation number for some directory.  It was very difficult to understand and hear him as I could hear my voice playing back (being recorded probably?).  He had my name and asked to verify that's whom he was speaking with.  I said no and hung up.  Tried looking up the phone number and it was unlisted---so I typed it into Yahoo and found this site.  Obviously a scam.

DO NOT answer "YES" to any question asked by these guys.  You are being recorded and your answers will be manipulated to sound as if you agreed to a $499 contract.  This just happened recently to my grandmother who owns a small businesss.  I own a small business as well and I receive at least one call every 3 months or so from these morons.  The last call I received was today and after the guy stated his introduction, I told him that before we continued, by Texas law, I have to notify him that our conversation was being recorded.  He said F#CK YOU and hung up.

This Justin guy called me and said the previous owner owed for a past bill and wanted me to authorize for cancellation.  I told the person he transferred me to that I wasn't paying it and I have been recieving calls all day.  They kept hanging up on me and calling back.

We receive several calls from these guys named Marcus asking for money for a yellow page ad.  I think its a scam.

A woman with an Asian accent called me several times on 10-22-10 and also asked me for the $499.00 and I told the scammer that I did not order my add on the yellow pages. This is the third time that I was called and by a different person, and every time with accents that are very hard to understand.

I have been called no less than 10 times in the last 24 hours by these folks. Yesterday the number was unlisted today it was 681-324-8354. I asked them to leave me alone and hung up. Calling back 5 times yesterday and 5 times today. On the fifth time today I let the guy have it. I have not heard anything since. Same garbage, they did not have any valuable information and claimed I owed them $400 for a listing that has been running for 2 years.

Same thing as above but my call was from a guy named Pretish who said his employee number was 60042. I called back the number from my caller ID and the person that answered said that it was Semens Industries and said she "had no idea what I was talking about." I'm going to file a police report.

I got the same call 5 times, I told them I was recording the call and was going to send it to the FBI for caller phone fraud, and sue them for harassment. I never heard back, especially after I started making fun of their heavy Indian accent, and said "I would like to buy a Slurpee" in my best Indian accent, then asked if I could speak to an American who spoke English, and they hung up.....oh too bad...LOL

They called my front desk saying I had just approved their bill.  I was standing at the desk and they heard me refuse to pay.  They claim that a former employee will be responsible...lol

Told them that my legal department would have to review the bill and to mail it.

SCAM!!!  we just received the same type of call as others here have mentioned.  They even used
the same names.  They wanted to give us a cancellation number.  I told them that we had never done
business with them so there was nothing to cancel and hung up.  They called back 5 times!!
I finally told him that I had to hang up so that I could call the Better Business Bureau.  

I like the gentleman's suggestion of telling them that you are recording the phone call.

Definitely a SCAM!  I got a call from Shane #5001 at this number twice today saying I had to cancel our ad in the online yellow pages.  I told him we did  NOT have an ad with them and would pay nothing. He said I had to cancel today or the ad would renew and without a cancellation number I wouldn't be able to refute any issues I had. He referred me to another dept and I immediately told that person I owed nothing and wanted the name of the CEO of thier company, address, and phone number NOW. I also said I was going to report them as a fraudulent company.  Both times they hung up.  I did say to go ahead and give me the cancellation number but kept on talking that I was going to report them.  I hope they don't edit the other part out and try to make a new recording if it was being recorded.  I am contacting the sherrif's department so there will be a trail of complaint just in case.

Her name was Shenell and her ID code was 5028S. She kept insisting that we owed a bill of $499.99 and she was from Yellow Pages. It showed up with the number 16813248354.  I said yes to owing the bill, so what should I do?

Incredibly rude. I know we don't list with them, never have, never will. They wanted me to cancel our service or it would renew automatically, told them we wouldn't make any decision until I had a copy of the signed original document in my hand. They have called 6 times today and I have been hung up on, been accused of being "difficult" and told that they want to talk to the owner they talked to on Monday. The called again and accused one of my co-workers of being the owner and denying it. This is a total scam and after reading what I have read here I hope they call back again. I'm going to use the "I am recording this call" suggestion from above.

Talked to someone name Alex (I'm sure they switch their names up).  Within 3 hours they have called me 15 times but won't leave a message.  I've reported them to the national do-not-call list, the TX DNC list, and the TX AG office.

so what did your grandmother do?  this just happened to me and i did say 'yes' as they requested.  it was a total scam just as you guys described and now i don't know what to do.

Paul Kempt is one of the reps peddling this scam of 499.99 - Be aware... be very aware.!!! Theses people are very rude and will just keep threatening you with collections...
