calls every 1/2 hour wont leave message HARRASSMENT

Received 5 calls in two hours from this number. Four did not respond when I spoke. One time I got a message saying I was facing federal charges.

"Federal Charges are pending against you" is a classic line in their calls.  Here's info on the scam.

Yep...it's the IRS scam.  Called the number after blocking mine and man with heavy Indian accent said, "United States Treasury" how can I help you?  I said, "really, you're the US treasury department?"  He said, "yes mam, did you receive a call from us?"  I said, "yes, you must be calling about the error you made on my refund.  So when can I expect my $18,000 dollars?"  He hung up on me.

I got 3 successive calls from 681 753 4968 leaving an intense automated message on my voice mail alerting me that ignoring this 2nd attempt would make me face charges in Federal Court, if I refuse to cooperate....

I called back that # from my work, and asked who I was speaking to.  I was told it was Officer Robin Mathews in Washington with the US Department of Treasury.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Block and ignore.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

This number calls me often.  Today it started around 10 AM.  3-4 times today.  The phone only rings 2 times before they hang up.  If I answer right after the second ring, the person doesn't say anything after I say Hello.  I waited 20 seconds before I finally hung up.

Received six calls in the same day from this number with six messages left that went something like this: "Hello! My name is Steve Martin and I am calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury.  Ignoring this call will be an intentional second offence to avoid appearing before a magistrate, judge etc, for a federal criminal offence."

I got the exact same thing.  One message saying I was facing charges and 6 calls every 20 minutes with no message, same number.  Creeps!  Get a job and quit trying to cheat us out of our money.  The government is already doing that job for you.

This number has called people in Santa Rosa, CA, over 150+ times today claiming to be "Steve Martin", "Sharon Martin", "David Gray", or "Sgt. Dexter of the Santa Rosa Police Department". Calls repetitively and when I called him back he hung up on me.

I have gotten the same scam calls from the number 681-753-4968. Steve Martin . Must be the comedian .
Middle eastern or Indian accent.
He left 2 messages and called 6 times in 24 hours.
Must be desperate to make that minimum wage he earns from the call center.
Reported to FBI .

This person is claiming to represent the U.S. Treasury and is harassing our home.

Rcv'd 3 calls on Monday 4-21-15 stating there was a criminal investigation re: jewelry theft and they left this number. Foreign sounding voice.

I received 3 phone calls from this number this AM  2 no one answered...the third said he was STEVE...I hung up immediately because I had already looked up this scam number.

this time there was an ID phone number...

I just got my 4th call from that number....HOW DO I STOP IT???

How can you block this number

Claimed affiliation with US Treasury with an enforcement action requiring my attention and ignoring this would be a 2nd offense. To avoid going before a magistrate judge for intentional criminal offense, I need to call the number above. I called the number after three of these messages but was asked to leave a message. The person may have a British accent.

About four calls a day. Left a message today which I've recorded and will forward to local police and FBI. If I  get someone to answer I'll play it back right after I say hello. Then I'll interrupt to tell them the recording has been sent to local media, the police and FBI voice recognition lab. These scumbags need to be stopped...anybody being harassed should report it to the police to least.

Got this call 6 times saying facing Federal case 2nd time contact facing Federal Charges, call can help me, also about 6 months ago received same call but saying they were federal agents I was under bench warrant for arrest. The calls lowered two different men's name but had the same voice of a man from India.
