Who and where is this call coming from.

I received a text from this number inquiring over an item I am selling on Craigslist. They seemed like a scamer and once I told them that via text, I no longer heard from them. How did you come across this number? - thanks!

Just texted me about an item I'm selling on Craigslist, only they literally just sent me the title of my post with no question or anything. I wrote back saying if they can tell me about the item I'll consider selling it to them. No response yet :)

Thanks for your posts.  I likewise received a text about a listing on Craigslist. I found this thread and confirmed my suspicion that the inquiry is not legitimate.

Yup this is a scammer, no doubt. It's great that folks are taking the time to post these to expose these knuckleheads. My text thread went like this:
Scammer: "Product description" (Just like above, the initial text from the scammer just stated the title of the post, no questions, etc)

Me: "Yes....."

Scammer: "Okay, will issue you a check which will clear in a day or 2, I will make arrangement for the pick up after payment has been received, I would not mind adding $50 if you retain it for me."

Me: "Ok so you send a check, I wait for it to clear and then when it does, you pick up (item)?"

Scammer: "I'll be responsible for the pick up and the movers money will be included with your payment which you will send to them after you deduct your money. Do reply back with your full name and address where the payment should be mailed."

Me: Hey no disrespect but I don't want to get involved with paying out movers/sending money. I 'd rather just do a face to face transaction. And don't you even want to see the (item)?

No response after that.
