Got a call asking for verification of my account #

I think scamsters are trying out different messages, checking for best response rate. Don't be surprised to get another call soon froma different #,
possibly human, not robot, once they fine tune their message

Received a call from this number today, same as many above -- BOA credit card being locked. To unlock, follow instructions. I did (was distracted while doing it), and immediately knew I had been duped. Called BOA canceled/locked card and had another one reissued.

Is there ANYWHERE, ANYONE, some service that will find these creeps and strangle them for me?

I got a call from this # last night at 10:05 CST on my cell phone.  I thought it was odd so I answered it.  Like some people have already replied, it said they were sorry to report possible fraudulent activity on my Bank of America debit card and it had been locked - press 1 to contact the security dept. to reactivate it.  I thought - hmmm... since I don't have a BOA debit card, I am going to see what happens when I press 1.  It then asked me to put in my 16 digit debit card number. This is definitely a pfishing scam to steal card numbers.  I then hung up and called the number back just to see who I would get.  I got a recording that said "thank you for calling back.  If you are no longer interested in receiving calls for our promotions, please press 1 to be put on the do not call list."  How weird is that????

husband & I BOTH got this scam call yesterday on our CELL PHONES!  Recorded message said fraud alert from Bank of America.  When we called back, we could immediately tell scam call & hung up.  Problem is these scammers are frequently calling from India or Pakistan & even AT & T can't tell the exact call origin.  Yes, you can block the number BUT they constantly change the fake caller ID.

Government- wake up & shut down these scammers!

Got a call from this number on my work cell phone, which is in no way connected to any personal accounts.  Said they were from Wells Fargo and that my debit card was being deactivated.  Asked me to punch in my card number and PIN to reactivate it.  I don't have a Wells Fargo debit card.  Obviously a scam.

I do not appreciate calls like this.  Telling me my credit card is being deactivated and to select a number.  Total scam.. I wish we could catch these people and hand them out to dry.

This is a phishing scam and it amazes me that this is still up and running for so long running the same number with multiple different scams.

Currently it is advertising that it is Wells Fargo calling to reactivate your card.  Curiosity had me seeing as I have never been a Wells Fargo customer so I pushed 1 to reactivate.  It then asks you to input your card number.  Pumped a fake one in and it hangs up.

Do not fall for this.  Also, please report this to your local law enforcement so they can forward this to the proper department or agency so that those who are running it can be shut down and/or brought to justice.
