Got a call from this number saying "this is not a sales call. There has been a crime in your area. Call back now for (couldn't hear what was said here) then hung up.

That happened to me once, some time ago.
So, I loaded my 12-gauge, and asked my friends, Mr Smith and Mr Wesson to join the party.
We all monitored the police scanner, and enjoyed a snack and some adult beverages, while we enjoyed the view outside.
Nobody ran out of the woods.
Nobody approached our house.
Nobody tried to put up a sign in our yard, in exchange for a "free" house monitoring system.
The dogs did not bark - they might have been too busy chewing on our last unwanted visitor's leg.

Just screened a call from this number to my office. No message.

I pressed 1 and spoke to an AMANDA. I think she said 'Home Protective Services', She abruptly hung up on me when I asked her to repeat the business name. "This is not a sales call..." - I detest these people.
I'm in an office building, they are looking for homeowners. A Google search of their name came up empty.
When I called the number back, it said to 'press any number to be removed from this list. It may take 24 hours...'.

We'll see if that is true.

My daughter and her fried both receivd a call from this number, warning them to stay inside with the doors locked, something bad happpened in the area. Wonder how they got both cell numbers and called at the same time. The warning was a lie. Scared the kids.

I just received a call from this number. I do not get good cell phone reception in my bedroom, so I didn't even hear it ring. No message left.

I just received a call on my straight talk cell phone from this number.  I did not answer it because I did not know the number.  They did not leave a message.  So I saved their number under my scam list that I created on my cell phone.
