Got the same call. Caller id says "Police PF" from #702-269-9600. Didn't answer. Screams of scammyness.

I just recieved a call from 702-269-9600 - It said Police PF - No one there when I answered, tried to call back but line was busy.  Needless to say I went to my computer and ended up here.  Glad I did, I was afraid one of my kids had been hurt or worse.

They've been calling me on a daily basis. They never leave a message.

I just filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov and would encourage everyone else to do the same!

They called once on 09/13 (see my previous posts here under "Bill), twice on 09/15, and just now at 6:47PM on 09/22.

Again I didn't answer. but his time when I called immediately back to check their number I got a "busy" signal (previously it was an automated "We cannot take your call").

I have filed Complaints with the National Do Not Call Registry and the FTC (for all that seems to be worth.

I will file again on his one (which, based upon my experiences), is a useless endeavor - as the Scammers always get away with it, and the FTC and Do Not Call seems to be able to (or do not want to)do absolutely nothing.

This is a Nationwide SCAM using the Police Protective Associations name, and is being elicited in many States, to commit fraud.

This number contacted my phone number twice: 9/21 at 9:20AM and again on 9/24 at 5:29PM.
Since I don't answer unknown numbers and they don't leave a message, the calls are just a bother.

THIS # HAS CALLED MY HOME ONCE A DAY SINCE SEPT. 9, OBVIOUSLY TELL THEM TO GO #$&! THEMSELVES DOESN'T WORK!

Got a call on 9-25-07 11:15 am on my business line from this Company.  Caller ID said Police PF.  When I answered with my Company name, a woman said "Oh sorry...wrong number" and hung up.  This is the 4th time this number has called both on my home phone and business line.  When I googled it, came up as a Vitamin company.  I really find it annoying and wish they would stop calling.

Aprox 2pm PST.  Recieved this call 1-702-269-9600 on Aug 18 at 11:53 a.m. The Caller ID says Police PF.  In calling Embarq they are NOT WILLING TO DO S**T! ......... They say that a complaint has to be filed through the local police dept.  Even after I told them of being a phone tech for 20 years (retired) and knowing the fact that 'other' bell companies also start an investigation from their end (being that the caller ID is being trunked through their system they are not willing to listen.
CHANGING MY PHONE COMPANY!!! ... and for reference reporting this to local Las Vegas Police.

Also recieved a call the same time as above within 20 minutes...2:20 pm and called local Embarq customer service.  I was told that they will not take any report of this happening and also told me that I had to file a complaint with the local police.  I was PISSED and even after telling them that this rude customer service would make me switch to a 'Broadband' service I got NO help!  I am TOO switching TONIGHT to another company even if it costs me more!

Even though NUMEROUS complaints against these incidences have been forwarded to you nothing happens.  The fact is that these numbers are being trunked through your system and customer service of Embarq documented many many times on internets sites such as the one pasted above has no effect and you are writing this off.  
I will give this matter 10 days in hopes of hearing from you because I have no problem with your phone service or pricing.....however as much as I regret to go broadband at any price I will in fact change my service and get onboard with these internet sites to petition Embarq to get on this.  I do understand that customer service is giving a 'stock answer' that has been memo'd to them however this is not what service is all about.  In fact I called the local broad band provider, Cox and their customer service told me that the fact that being their service was 'Internet Based' gives them full IP investigation and in fact they for one have not had this problem of this fake call ..... If they did they would urge the customer to also file a complaint with the local police and THEY WOULD move also into investigation from their side as well instead of passing it off.  Your turn ok?  Please let me know what you will do about this....a copy of this email will also get pasted onto the site I gave you a hyper link with.
