Has called three times now and no message.  The one time I did answer there was nobody on the other end.

Got a call from 702-297-6143 this evening.  She asked for us by name.  The background sounded like many people talking like a telemarketers office would sound like.  She was trying to "give" us a home security system for free.  I politely told her we were on the Do Not Call list then she said that she would make sure we were not bothered again.  I did report the call on the DNC website.  It remains to be seen whether they call us again or not.  I will report them each and every time they call here, Do Not Call means Do Not Call.

Call from 702-297-6143. CID shows as SEARCHLIGHT NV. Started immediately into a sales pitch. They do not respect any DNC lists. Blocked them.

Received call from 702-297-6143 caller ID showed "searchlight, NV".  This was not the first time their number appeared in my caller ID, but the first time I was at home to answer.    Woman asked for me by name, then told me that I won a GE Security System worth $1200".   I stopped her in mid-sentence and told her I wasn't interested, and to take me off their list.

Just got a call. Only saw number in Caller ID so didn't recognize or answer.

Note: used to be common for people to get your personal info. (such as signing up to win a prize at a fair ground or trade show etc.  You get on their "call list".  Some of them SELL your info.  Nowadays, robo-calls are also prevalent.  DNC cannot stop them.  Legislation is supposedly looking for ways to block and stop them.  However, if you want to try reporting them try the FCC, although inundated with these, it may be the best way to report them.

AND the list goes on and on with various numbers.

It is best to not even answer any call from an unrecognized number.  If it is important, someone will call leave a message or back.

The simple fact that you answered the call lets the sender know that it is a valid number and they sell it.  They do not even have to be selling a valid product.  If you press any key, then they know it is a valid number and if you say anything, especially if it is offensive, then you guarantee that your number will be sold.

About 5 months ago, I stopped answering calls from unknown numbers and I have seen a distinct decrease in all calls even valid commercial ones.  I used to receive about 2 - 3 calls a day and now it is down to about 1 a week.

Records are being kept that increase the validity of your number being active based on the number of times you have answered these phishing calls.  Those numbers with the highest connect rate net the most profit for the phishers and are highly prized for the commercial industry.

To STOP ANSWERING UNKNOWN CALL NUMBERS is the only defense!

I never answer these type calls, but vae received about six over the last few weeks, even tho I have blocked this number.

Caller said hello 2 times before hanging up.  I too heard lots of other people talking on phones in the background.

They've been calling a couple times a week now, usually hanging up when I answer the phone. Today there was actually someone on the other line so I finally know who they are. Telemarketers, of course. I couldn't understand the name of the company, he had a very thick accent. You can tell it's a "boiler room" type operation, I could hear other telemarketers in the background. He told me that me & 10 other homeowners in my area had be selected to win a $1300 home security system. As soon as he said that, I interrupted him and told him we weren't interested, and to never call us again. But I don't think he heard a single thing I said. He kept on with his "script" as I hung up on him. The number will be blocked from now on.

We received the call  from 702-297-6143 ( North Las vegas,NV.? ) @14:54,06/25/2014, while I was in backyard.It left no message.. I returned the call 3 1/2 hour later. A man's message to me: " You call can not be completed as dialed , please check the number & call again.", My phone showed the caller is V62514574630059. I have received many calls from different area codes & numbers and the caller is Vxxxxxxxx000000 ( 15 digits ) . When I returned the calls, I received similar message. So many people filed complaints  with www.800notes.com since 03/25/2013.

Received a call from 702-297-6143.  Did not answer, and let it roll over to the answering machine.  The lady on the other end said hello two times, waited about 5 seconds, and then hung up.  In the background many people could clearly be heard, as if talking on phones.  I have since blocked the number, but our local ATT service provider will only allow a subscriber to block up to 6 numbers on a land line, so I have to rotate the block list every once in a while.

You have few options here, block them, answering machine or don't answer. I don't own a answering machine but do have voicemail. Don't answer not really a option as I take calls for orders from all over US & Canada, and didn't know this number, but whenpicked up, silence, nothing, so hung up. I DID however talk to live person today, not giving my real name when they asked for me by name I have not been called since nuns called me that in 4th grade. I hung up and blocked them. Do not call lists are joke, you have to be naive to think these bottom dwellers will follow the law. They use pre paid phone cards, 800, 877, 900, and other toll free numbers, even have their goons in "your area" call you so number on caller ID appears LOCAL.

Got the call, Not a Robo call, but a person at the other end of the phone first thing.  Spoke with a slight accent, and can not pin point the accent but slight Hispanic is the fist thing that hit me.  Person was polite got to give them that.

They said they were from FDS Home Security. Selling 2Gig systems.

He switched me over to someone and in that process the call dropped, Well now they are blocked.

The phone calls my husband and I are receiving from this number is a company appearing as a wrongful representation of  Microsoft corporation technical support team.  They have been calling from July 10, 2013 to today of July 18, 2013.  They are attempting to collect a debt for a service that they wrongfully initiated on July 10, 2013 while I was on my computer.  They claimed they were the Microsoft technical support team and were informed that I had a virus on my computer and they were receiving errors reports.  They advised and directed me to update to Microsoft Windows Ultimate update to solve the problem.  I entered my debit card #, but it would not clear.  Immediately, arrows appeared all over my computer screen making changes and putting in their passwords.  They printed off from my printer, without my consent a location and name of Sumer Singh in India to make a payment to through my local Western Union office.  I called Microsoft corporation to assist me in gaining control of my computer and restoring it to its factory level and lost everything on my computer.  Microsoft claims that this unknown organization has pirated Microsoft Windows Ultimate.  The other calls we have been receiving from them are 661-748-0240 with k.i.infosolutoin and kasim123 with http://www.ummah.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?-Hajj-.
