Received this text message from caller:

"It's True! We are giving away iPad2's to the first 1000 mobile users that go to http://cellrewardsnow.com enter code 8172 to qualify. Optout at celloptout.com"

The website claims they are giving away iPad 3s, not 2s. Not that it matters, though. It's a scam.

I refuse to use the "opt out" option, as that only verifies that my number is active. Then they can sell it to other spammers.

received a text from this number with the same message as above but the number was a little different.804-536-4030 was the number. I did not respond as I do not wish to receive further trash from this or another other spam number.

I was told to enter code 8372

I had the same message but from 7752530965. And the response code was 8172.

same message from 702 408 5436 and told to enter code 8172

I got a text from 804-536-4030 about the ipad3's and yes i would love one thank you my number 678-791-2360

I got the same text, but from 917-741-6795 with reply code 4572.

Honestly I wonder if the text was generated by my recent amazon or ebay searches as I have been researching ipads the last 2 days! urgh!!!

I received the same message from 217 781-3674. I haven't researched iPads at all but started getting messages daily from these people.

Once you try reply STOP then they see you're responding so bug you even more. It would be so nice if scammers like this didn't pester me on my personal cell number. The last one of these giveaway deal websites asked me to sign up for a bunch of other services and asked a lot of personal questions then on the very last page you some of it doesn't work so you don't qualify for the free deal, but they have all your information and you're subscribed to a bunch of stuff you don't really want. It's all a marketing rip-off, as is unfortunately usual in this age of people with no ethics.

i figured this sh*t was bogus, so i researched it, its a scam to get your personal information and your working telephone number!!!  


DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!    THE WEBSITE ISNT REAL!!!!

I recieved this message but from a different number -- 702-497-1271.

I did not do any internet searches for Ipads and my number is on the do not call list.
