they called me like a week or two ago and ever since then I been getting weird calls from all over the place.... my best guess is ignore it... it's probably a scam that will charge you $400. a minute

My daughter called from Austin, TX using this same # and stated it was from a pay phone. She had just left our home 20 minutes earlier. No time for border towns, PA or Nevada...just a local phone with an international number.

He used it because he didn't want his wife to know he was calling me so he couldn't use his cell without my number showing up on the bill. So if your freind has a cell phone and chooses to call you from a pay phone.... well you figure it out. But I could be wrong about your freind.

Rodolfo - 27 Jun 2007whe you received a call from 702-444-4939 probably it came from any of the the Mexican Border Cities (Juarez, Tijuana, Mexicali, Laredo) this cities have an INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC PHONES that belongs to an american company located in Las Vegas, NV, those telephone are dedicated exclusivelly to make INTERNATIONAL LONG DISTANCE CALLS and if u use it, your call will be connected as follow: Juarez(Mexico)-Las Vegas-Your city.

He stated he would go to california or back to el salvador. we had a huge argument last night and he supposedly is working. We live in Maryland. He called me from 702-444-4939 and the number looks strange to me. He states he is in baltimore working but im scared he has left. WHere do you think he is? he tells me not to worry that he is in baltimore and will be home tonight. PLEASE HELP!!!

My belief is that either this is a default caller id for a lot of payphones (possibly made in vegas) that just automatically shows up. I guess the real question is, why was he calling from a pay phone or using a calling card?

Mona - 17 Aug 2008My husband went fishing today, and called from a payphone in a small, small town in New Mexico. He didn't have cell service, so I'm assuming he called from a pay phone. Anyway, he was going to meet up with some friends who were camping and it got too late so he decided to stay. I know he isn't in Nevada, so I'm going to say it's safe to assume it's a pay phone.

Debbie - 25 Jan 2008I received a phone call at about 12:30 noon from Las Vegas, New Mexico from a boyfriend who was calling to tell me that he had just arrived in Las Vegas from a Denver road trip. He left home at 7:00 a.m. He was on his way to El Paso, Texas and said that he would call me half way. The timing is right about 5 hrs. of driving. He forgot to take his cell phone with him so he had to have called from a payphone or from a calling card from a pay phone. When I tried to call back to the number on the caller ID 702-444-4939 was busy. The number is a Las Vegas, Nevada phone number. I am relieved that there is so much confusion about this number because at least I know that he was calling from a pay phone that is obviosuly very busy or that the number rotates between available lines from some phone service. Relax people and don't be so suspicious.

Anywho, I received a call tonight at 957pm. I am in Tucson Arizona. I was told by my friend it was a pay phone (1$ for 2 minutes and 25 cents for every minute thereafter.) :) He was calling from either Mississippi or Louisiana... unless he lied! But I am sure he wasn't.

The girl with a guy in the backround said they saw me last night and mentioned the area I was in....Also gave up some info and implicated my husband....After 28 years together I know it is some one that is jealous or wants me to fight with him...Their the losers not us.....Just let me find out who it is so I can make a complaint to the nearest police station and press charges for harrasment.....

He was calling from a payphone because his cell phone is a work phone, so he left it. I momentarily nutted up because I was watching CSI, and they said something about 702 area code being Vegas and I got ALL suspicious, and looked it up. Apparently, it is centered out of Las Vegas, but I believe the folks on here who say it's like a cycling number. No doubt the pay phone was one of those crappy, expensive privately owned ones. Now we know why they are so damn expensive!
