Chances are this is a trunk group from a long distance company so calls from all over the country could be coming up with this caller ID.  Probably not a prank and if you get billed for a call you didn't accept, your phone company will normally credit the call.

he is in VA Beach he told me that he was using a pay-phone.

It is probably a pay-phone agency that routes their calls though NV.

Got a call at 9:24 pm on June 9th. Was expecting a call from my buddy who was waiting for someone from up north (bayarea North Cali). I assumed he was using his friends fone to call me....i tried calling it back SEVERAL times but got busy signals for the first calls. After an hour or so later i tried again and it rang for 2-3 minutes then the call just ends. I don't know what's happening but I'm very pissed

Me and my long time boyfriend got in a huge fight this morning and he said he was going to help one of his friends pick up a trailer.  then I get a call from this 1-702-444-4939 it is my long time boyfriend. he didn't tell me where he was at but that he wouldn't be home for a couple of days for some lame as LIE. Anyways I ended up here and just wanted to report my call.  I guess he lied cause he said it was an in town job and he would be back in a little over an hour. Lying pig.

my boyfriend called me from this number and said he could not see me on the 25 of June 2008. OMG i am glad it is a calling card.. i was thinking my man was in Nevada.. cuz i google searched the area code.

This is just a number a calling card company routes through.  No worries.  My ex called me from Atlanta and this number came up.  I used to work for a calling card company and they have some explanation for why this happens, about billing or some such thing.

I GOT A CALL AT 6PM FROM 702-444-4939 AND DONT NO WHO IT IS

I got a call from Phoenix Arizona in - McDowell and 47th St, it shows on my caller ID as 702 444 4939 - I picked up the phone and the person on the other line says he was using a pay phone - this is so weird. Why is this pay phone showing Las Vegas area code - why the government won't take action - how if the call is an emergency - how are they going to track the caller for help.

I got a call from northern Calif. but registered 702-444-4939
How is that possible? I did not answer the calls but when I call back, it was busy. I know who called because they left a message. Somehow, the pay-phones are being re-routed to Nevada scammers

I just got a call from this number (702-444-4939) and the call came from a Lexington,KY phone booth.  I live in another part of Kentucky.  I know it came from a phone booth, cause he told me so!

702-444-4939 it is a calling card, trust me I have tracked it and know without a doubt.

702-444-4939, I had a suspect call from this number on a payphone down the street from the PD, If you do not know where they are they could be anywhere in the US.not necessarily in mexico that is not completely true.Do not try to assess where you think they are it will mess you up in the head. try to rely on facts only.do not read to much into it.

I got this call from my husband, which was on the way from Texas to pick me up from a visit in Ohio.  This number 7024444939 is  a cell phone company as well they sell minute phones.  My husband bought it because he could not get a signal from his AT&T provider. I guess this is just the number that shows up.

message left every day, sometimes 2-3 x, on my cell phone. appears to be a weather report from hercules, ca.

i get calls from this number also. they begin anywhere from 11pm to 3am, either every night or every other night. the person on the other end definitely knows me because he whispered my name. i tried calling it back but is always busy. i think it is a calling card because if you call a payphone back it will at least ring, i think?
