  I bet its for people like me who look at the caller ID and screen their calls.....when you pick up the line when they call, they now know your phone number is good and the recorded message is so you will be less likely to complain about an annoying hang up call.

      I got that number too. I believe it be either a skip tracer, a collection agency or an autodialer verifying phone numbers as working number

  yes!! this company had been calling us from different numbers everyday and i keep calling back asking to be put on the do not call list and they either hang up when i actually get a person on the phone or the automated response that is supposed to place you on it is just BS! is there any way to report the BBB about them?

I just got this call at about 8:40 CST 10-5-07 and I am SOOO glad I found this site. I was spooked that it was a hacker attempt or worse. I use Quill a lot and I can see that it is mentioned in this thread. Nonetheless, it is an underhanded thing to do and I will not use Quill from this day forward because of it. It did scare me. I heard a recorded female voice say verbatim: "My mistake, sorry about that." Then click. I hope I won't need this site again for something like this, but I think it's terrific that people are out there looking out for one another. Bravi.

Got a call 10-6-07 at 11:03. My guess is that it is hunting for a fax machine to pick up to send an unwanted fax--maybe from Quill. Thus, the recorded sorry routine if a person picks up.

Just got my call too, followed up by another call with no-one on the other end with the number 000-000-0000. I have no idea if they are related.

I got the same call from that Brooks Partners at the same number with the message "sorry, my mistake". No clue who they are but it is very strange...

3 calls from them in 2 days on cell, didnt answer and left no message. Funny a web search reveals no listing for Brooks Partners in Nevada???? Don't think it is Quill. use them alot, they have my fax number and have never gotten a spam fax from them
