- StretchReceived a phone call on my land line from this number claiming they represent AARP. Woman said her name was Kathy Sanchez and asked me if someone recently died that I knew. She said someone left me an AARP policy and she said "who died in your family"? I told her, YOU tell ME who died because if you are calling, you should know. She then said if I didn't appear in court on Wedneday, I would be arrested. (Never said what court or where or time.) Total crock of crap, but still not sure what she was after. Phone number showed up a "Vision Telecom" on caller ID. She hung up on me when I told her she made no sense. I'm a 73 year young senior and know that no information is going over the phone.
- ReceptionistWe received multiple calls from this telephone number trying to contact one of our employees. The gentleman (I use that term loosley) said his name was Andrew Hendrick. He was very rude, and used profanity. He tied up all of our incoming lines at the same time, so we assume he is at some sort of call center.

They then try to get you to log into a site that allows remote desktop. Now they've just been hanging up after I tell them to stop calling. Tried calling the number back but it is always busy.

- WadeCalled this morning around 10:30 AM. They asked for my name and I gave them a false name. Then it got really weird because they asked me if I was done. I said done with what? They repeated the question 'Are you done'? I said I suppose I am for the time being but they asked again if I really was done. I asked back what they were talking about and then there was a long pause so I just hung up. Bizarre!

‘Free Government Grants’: Don’t Take Them For Grant-ed
“Because you pay your income taxes on time, you have been awarded a free $12,500 government grant! To get your grant, simply give us your checking account information, and we will direct-deposit the grant into your bank account!”
Sometimes, it’s an ad that claims you will qualify to receive a “free grant” to pay for education costs, home repairs, home business expenses, or unpaid bills. Other times, it’s a phone call supposedly from a “government” agency or some other organization with an official sounding name. In either case, the claim is the same: your application for a grant is guaranteed to be accepted, and you’ll never have to pay the money back.
Don’t give out your bank account information to anyone you don’t know.
Scammers pressure people to divulge their bank account information so that they can steal the money in the account. Always keep your bank account information confidential. Don’t share it unless you are familiar with the company and know why the information is necessary.
Don’t pay any money for a “free” government grant.
If you have to pay money to claim a “free” government grant, it isn’t really free. A real government agency won’t ask you to pay a processing fee for a grant that you have already been awarded — or to pay for a list of grant-making institutions. The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet. The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is www.grants.gov.
Look-alikes aren’t the real thing.
Just because the caller says he’s from the “Federal Grants Administration” doesn’t mean that he is. There is no such government agency. Take a moment to check the blue pages in your telephone directory to bear out your hunch — or not.
Phone numbers can deceive.
Some con artists use Internet technology to disguise their area code in caller ID systems. Although it may look like they’re calling from Washington, DC, they could be calling from anywhere in the world. - The Angry 876 ConsumerThis is really coming from Kingston, Jamaica.....

- Rhoni| 1 replyGot a call at 8:32 this morning. As soon as they asked for me by name, I hung up. I do NOT talk to people I do not know! How do they get unlisted numbers? I have caller ID and didn't look at it until after the call. Should not have picked up the call but was half asleep. Does anyone know what to do about these calls?? The "do not call" list is such a crock too!
