Yeah, I got a call from him twice, one in November, 2009, another in January, 2010. He said he is a recruiter for Citigroup. But he would not tell me where he got my number from. Very dubious.

I received a call from Bob Johnson today. When asked how he received my number, he said it was from an online resume or possibly a business partner. I told him I would have neither of those out there and he said it was given to him by his company and he did not know. He said his company was Primerica apart of Citigroup. He also asked me twice if I was looking for work. I told him I was more concerned about how he got my number and he quickly wanted to get off the phone.

I got the call from Ben today. He offered me a position?!
I have three ideas from where he got my phone number and the name. The first call I received about 6 months ago, the 'position offerer' said that he got my information from my school - the Art Institute. Even though he knew about the school, I find it very hard to believe. The second option is an online resume-posted about 4 years ago. I posted my resume washingtonpost.com and monster.com, also an occasional craigslist replies for help wanted (DC area) -- this will explain the knowledge of my education and the school. The third option is my facebook account and I really hope that that's not it!

Oh yes, it can't be a phone company because we have a family plan and I am not the primary account holder.

So people, lets narrow it down!

Got the call but did not answer it since I did not know the number. He left a number to call back 7032014787. Called and it went to voice mail then googled it and found all these posts. Thanks! I too thought it was sketchy. Go with you instincts.

This is my second call from ben at primerica. This is such a scam. He told me he found my resume online, which is not the case. I quickly got off the phone. He listed new companys this time not Citi Group. Dont waste your time

This could have to do with the fact Primerica is an independent company on the NYSE now.  The ticker symbol is PRI

I too got a call from Ben saying that "we haven't gotten a chance to meet yet, but I have a position open for you. Give me a call when you have a chance"
The only place where he could have gotten my number is off a job website and my resume.

I just received (2) calls from 2 different reps for Primerica - one was in Sterling and the other in Herndon.

The first call I received was from someone named Mary 703-547-7265 in Sterling.  I didn't know anything about Primerica.  Mary said that she received my number for a friend of hers and she didn't remember which friend.  I was excited - I had just lost my job and I thought that maybe this was a good idea...

but shortly after I made that appointment I received a call from another rep.  His name was Ben Johnson 703-201-4787.  Well then I became suspicious.  I asked HIM how he got my number and he said off Craigslist.com.  He asked me which office was closer to me Sterling or Herndon and I said Herndon.  So we set-up our appointment and he said he would call Mary and let her know.  When I got off the phone I googled Primerica...and THIS is what I found.  Beware....

    employed and happy
I got a call and same thing job offer, but i have a job, so I called and I forget the guys name was like so happy to hear my voice, and hence asked If I was opened to getting another job or changing jobs and I told him it would depend, and that i was pretty well set where I was and in the end requested that he contact me via email with any and all information regarding the positions they were offering mainly, and he said something about being a financial group, and I told him I would call him back, but I felt it awkward for him to say he did not do email, and typed in the number to check it out and found this, so no I will not be leaving my job anytime soon nor will I call him back either

    Annoyed at the scammers
I just got a call from Ben, who stated exactly word-for-word what user Herndonite wrote. "We haven't gotten a chance to meet yet, but I have a position open for you. Souned fishy an even more so because he never mentioned what agency he was working for. I got one from Mary over year ago and was really mad because I was unemployed at the time. These people areout to ruin good hard-working people who just want to make a living. I just don't think anything can be done about it othe than ignore them.
