Christina Sims aka Ms. Sims called me on a debt credit card that i never heard of before call Providian Bank

Ms. Sims called me in regards to a debt she thought I owed. Do not give her any information about yourself and definitely do not pay them any money. I do not owe her or the company she represents any money and she is not allowed to call me at work like she is doing. If you owe a company monies, pay the company you owe directly and not the collection company anyways. Bottom line, I do not owe Ms. Sims or the company she works for any money. I will not take her calls from now on.

These people like to change thier names and act like they are a brand new company knowing its a scam.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
