Answered the phone but no one was there. They called later again, I did not pick up letting my voice mail take the call. No message was left. I called back and the number is not in service!?

We have had a call from this number twice lately.  Another came from 703-336-4992.  Always the same.  Unavailable shows up on called ID and no one ever answers.

Multiple calls - no one on the other end.  If these people think that I will give them a penny after this harassment - they are sadly mistaken.  Does anyone know how to stop this telephone abuse?

I get multiple calls from this number and 4992. I never answer ANY call unless I know who it is, so I haven't tried to answer or call back, and there's no message on my answering machine, but another annoying thing about these calls is that they end with that loud noise that you hear when your phone's off the hook -- for a long time.

Received 3 calls today with no answer when we said "hello".  Checked with *69 which indicated the call came from 730 336-4900.  Last one had a noise that sounded feminine.

very annoying.  calls repeatedly several times a day.  won't say anything when you answer the phone.  when you yell into the phone they finally say they're from the prostate cancer fund or something and you should call back (an 800 number) but if you do call that number no one answers.  if someone finally answers on the 800 number they're very rude when you ask to have your phone number removed from their calling list.  they insist they have not called repeatedly.  all of them are liars.

This # is used by a telemarking firm that makes calls using a dialer system for several charities. BECAUSE THEY ARE CALLING FOR CHARITIES THEY ARE NOT COVERED BY THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY!! Telling them not to call because you're listed on the registry does nothing - neither does reporting them. The dead air when you pick up is because the call is made by a computer, and if/when you do get hold of a live person they will deny calling multiple times, since the computer systems don't list how many times attempts were made with no answer vs. how many times someone (you) actually answered the phone.
