3 Calls came each one hour apart from another. When I picked up, a woman said she is calling from a Cancer center asking for contributions. I asked if they have some information on the web and explained that I would not do anything unless I am sure this is not a scam, and she hung up on me. Did I ask too much?

Very annoying idiots call several times a day and into the night.  Now said they are a Prostate Cancer Fund and gave an 800 number (which does not clear up things).  They still call.

Multiple calls both day and night. No messages left. When I dial number, get message saying call could not go thru.

Received numerous calls, day and night from this number:  703-336-4992.  It always says unavailable, so we do not answer it, but the calls are annoying.

These IDIOTS need to be reported to someone.  But WHO?!!!  We're receiving up to 10 calls per day and it's absolutely the most annoying thing to hear your phone ring and look at caller ID and it's THEM again.  I try calling the number back and get a busy signal or "your call cannot be completed as dialed" ... and if I answer ... they hang up!

Got another call from this number, so I picked it up and tried to sound like a real human being. It was Sandy from "Bee L.C., a professional fundraiser" contacting past supporters for the Cancer Fund of America.  She states that she was looking for volunteers to get pledges for the Cancer Fund.  She also stated that their company was headquartered out of Knoxville, TN, but that she was calling from "The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virgina".  However, after looking up Bee, LC at New York State's list of professional solicitors:

I found that it was the charity that was HQ'd out of Knoxville.  Bee, LC has the following contact info:

Irritating, never answer. Bee LC is making these silent calls to find the best time to call you. They put the time and day of answer or no-answer calls in their database. I called them, and they took me off their list.

As a call center supervisor and understanding the system let me help you folks out, they can NOT call you as many times as your saying, the system will not let us!  PLEASE remember there is more than one cancer charity out there, so maybe some of those calls are from them that day too, however we can not stop them from calling.  Your response to our call is how we place you on the list. EXAMPLE: you hang up, we put not available and call you back! EXAMPLE: You tell another charity to never call angain WE DON'T KNOW THAT BECAUSE WE ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THEM, we call you when we do our campaign. FYI the do not call list does not apply to charitable organizations.FYI- If you don't answer the phone then the number is put back on the list within three hours because a no answer to a normal human being would be no one is home. RIGHT??  If you answer and let us know that your not interested your number is removed from that list for that campaign for that month.

I am surprised to see such anger to a company that is helping people who are sick, maybe you have had a bad day and maybe a slip through the system has caused more than one call that day, but please understand that these people are working to help cancer victims and diabetes victim and etc. So when your thrashing these people remember those that they are saving.  Please remember the person calling is taking a call that the system has given to them so they really don't have a clue that you have already been called so be nice and just let them know in a friendly way and you will get positvie results.  These people have a job to do saving lifes which is very rewarding to them even dealing with idiots like you!

Dear "Advice"

These people have a job to do because, like you, it's the only job they can possibly get! Their interest in helping people is nil. They need the paycheck, end of story. There are plenty of ways to help people that don't result in being hated by everyone in the world! Try one of those if you want to help people.

Also, you miss the very obvious possibility that any one of these calls could be a scam. Especially considering some of the responses noted in these accounts. The caller should provide full and complete details on the charity they represent. Otherwise, we must assume these callers are not "helping people who are sick" but instead are just helping themselves.

Finally, if a person answers and says they're not interested you remove their number for that month?!? It should be removed permanently! That shows what a lowlife operation most of you are running.

I plan to calll this REgis.  These calls are unwelcomed and harmful to eligible charities.

First of all, I received 3 caller ID labels from this company (BEE LC)within 5 hours .. no message left on the answering machine, so that seems to debunk part of your excuse.

Secondly, if this company is so reputable and "helping sick people" why do they hang up when someone requests more information?

Actually my caller ID showed 703-245-1667, but identified the calling part as BEE LC.  No message on answering machine; only repeated attempted calls.  Reverse look-up showed the # is not available.  A Web search of BEE LC brought me to this website.   Sounds way to fishy for me to consider.
