Received a call from this male asking for Leslie, it came from a springfield va area, i told him he had the wrong number and to stop calling, prior same person has been calling all day asking for leslie from a pennsyvania number

Called asking for my wife, who has been dead for 26 1/2 months.  Didn't let him get into his spiel.

Got a call from this number. Private name. Private number. Didn't leave a message. I'm not answering the call.

Call from this number came in from Springfield caller ID.  No idea who, no message, assume it to be solicitor.  Called at 0830 on a Saturday morning, bad form.

This is a call center for about 100 charities, they are fakes, and the call is IDed as "I" .  I called it back and was told it was a charity call center.  They are just not the real thing.

FYI this is a scamming company calling PRETENDING to be the state police trying to raise money.  THEY ARE NOT THE STATE POLICE and they are not affiliated with any law enforcement agency.  I know because I am in law enforcement.

JUST HANG THE PHONE UP.

Hung up on this unwanted call.  We do not answer any call not recognized.  The best thing to do is hang up on these nuisance calls.  The DNC Registry does nothing.

Received a call from this number this morning coming from the Springfield, VA area.  They asked for me by name and when I asked who was inquiring, there was silence so I hung up.

Received a call this morning from 1-703-372-0834 "Springfield" wanting first to speak to spouse than said either one one do.  Police spring fund raising event?  Really?  Try that speed speech on someone else scammer! Don't fall for this,  just block this number and don't even talk to these thugs. Such ungodly people in a hurry to go to hades.

This unwanted call is such a nuisance!!!!  Calls so much!!!!  We do not answer these unwanted calls!!!!

If you are police, why didn't you file a report and try to chase it down?  That's what a friend of mine is during, now.  He's out of state because  a scam center is posing as LEOs and they're not.  For that matter, they're posing as anything, including using bad language.  Yes, I know that's the only "crime" they have committed, that we know of, but...

Amen brother.  The DNC is a government JOKE.  Oh, not to mention they have loopholes so they can call and get money.  We need better laws for this.  Be careful.  Some are using horrendous language if you don't comply or catch on.

Since when do criminals obey laws?  The DNC is just one more to break! And foreign scammers are not going to obey it either.

To be blunt, these people have been calling for the last few months.  They call at all hours of the day and only say "Is _______ there?"  When you answer, it's silent or dead.  They call during meals, on the loo, and any other time that it's bloody inconvenient to answer.  Reporting to the Federal Do Not Call list is a joke.  At best, they say you can sue this group, but never tell you who they are or where.  Tracing it is annoying since they seem to move.  One time it's in one city and then it's in another.  But, it's always the same male voice.

Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

You seem to be intentionally ignorant of criminals that imitate existing legitimate businesses. These criminals spoof the CID number and the CNAM. Many of these criminals are in other countries where our law enforcement and courts have no jurisdiction.

Criminals always ignore the DNC.
