Scam.  Caller ID reads "IRS".
Foreign (Indian?) accent heavy enough to create errors in the speech-to-text conversion.
Message says:
"[garbled]... your name and under your Social Security number regarding a tax fraud and also will be filed against you in a federal Claims Court house today. Please give us a call back on 703-436-5026. I repeat the number is 703-436-5026 to receive more information regarding this lawsuit. Now please note that a non-billable arrest warrant will be issued on your name if we do not hear back from you as soon as possible. Thank you."

I received the same call. It's another scam, a rather offensive one, since they threaten an arrest warrant. Wish I knew a way to help them catch these jerks.

Did not even have my name. When I called the # 7037566663 it did sound like an answering for irs but there were many mistakes. but when you call the number they ask you to call it is a scam.

Got my call today. Replayed the landline message over 20 times to try and get the correct/garbled communique.
Sounded like a man from India reading a word print out.
Most of us do know - The IRS does NOT call you!  All done through the mail.
We should all report this to IRS spam!!!

There are a lot of older people in my small town and I would hate to think some of them might buy into this!!!

call originated from 703 756-6663 according to caller i.d.

I received a message on my recorder showing that it was from 703 756 6663 which is an IRS phone number based out of Virginia.  The caller who had a heavy accent starting talking before the recorder picked up. The message said "against you in a federal claim courthouse today.  Please give a call back today at 703 436 5026.  I repeat the number is 703 436 5026.  Please note a non billable arrest warrant will be issued in your name if we do not hear back from you as soon as possible.   My concern is that the number on the caller ID seemed to be a legitimate number that is somehow showing on the caller ID. but believe that this is a scam.

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS but you suspect they are not an IRS employee ...
Record the employee's name, badge number, call back number and caller ID if available.
Call 1-800-366-4484 to determine if the caller is an IRS employee with a legitimate need to contact you.
If the person calling you is an IRS employee, call them back.

I received my call today, but it was (703) 436-5027.  All other info was the same....India accent,caller-ID was the same for IRS,arrest,lawsuit,etc.,etc....
