I think this is an IRS Scam

I think this sounds like a scam too.  Very unofficial sounding.

IRS Scam is my first instinct.  The guy soumded like he was calling from India or something.    I'm not calling them back

Sounds bogus. Saying they are IRS dils. Tax fraud against you call immediately. Didnt try the number and im not going to. Had the same call a couple weeks ago from a different number.

I received a call from this number stating he was from IRS, but sounded fake. My name was not used and I'm pretty sure the IRS would not just call my number and not use my name. Also, I think the IRS would send me some written documentation before calling.

They called four times this morning.  Yep, just scum of the earth looking for free money.

Same issue here in Seattle. Definitely not a legit phone call. The IRS would send you a document to your mailing address.

7 calls today. It is a recorded message about tax fraud and I need to call immediately. I can't believe people will fall for this and will send them money.

Got 5 calls from them Friday.  Local  PD says I wasn't the only one. Our local newspaper has been warning people about the calls.

Caller stated I had a warrant for my arrest for fraud. Asked to speak to supervisor and call ended...shocking. Total scam, IRS does not make phone calls mail only.

I got a call from this number as well. i let it go to VM and the guy actually left a message (with a call back number that matched my caller id) saying what sounded like tax fraud against my neighbor? The guy was almost impossible to understand, sounded like he was calling internationally from the philipines or guam who knows? Anyway, i called the number back but got a recorded message from AT&T saying the call could not be completed as dialed. 30 minutes later he called again, the guy couldnt even pronounce my single syllable first name which is chris... He pronounced it churs. Now show me an IRS representative that doesnt know how to pronounce chris. What a [***] idiot!!! THIS IS A SCAM! DONT NOT ANSWER YOUR PHONE IF THIS NUMBER COMES UP on your caller ID.

I got the same call today. Left a voice mail, saying if you don't respond and the case goes to court, the only thing I can tell you is "good luck!". They said, they have warrant to arrest my wife (she filed the tax) and a long list of how they can destroy my legal life!!! After talking to them nicely, I found the guy sounds very suspicious. When I started to challenge his credibility he got upset, and acted very suspiciously. Now I'm not going to be specific of what does "suspicious" mean, because I think these guys could read this post and fix it. But if you have done everything right, you will know it by heart what being "suspicious" mean. At the end, I told the guy, "You know what, do whatever you want to do. I'll deal with it later", and the guys was obviously shocked!
Be careful guys, IRS doesn't act like jerk even if there is a problem in filing tax. These people were jerks!

Had two voicemails when I got home, then phone rang again. I answered but all I got was the same recorded message.

Marie, that's just plain BULL!  You cannot be arrested for debt and it is illegal for debt collectors to make such a threat.  Read and file a complaint here:

Fraudulent caller , called three times today saying there was tax fraud case filed against me.
The phone company needs to cancel the service on this phone line.
