got a call from this number.  I said hello twice and no answer.

Numerous calls from this number on caller ID.  I answered this time.  Telemarketer female said something about AAFP (?) - American Federation of Police or something like that.  Group who promotes identification of children in case they are abducted.  Played on sympathies as mother, grandmother, asked for donation.  I refused.  Took 2 refusals but finally she hung up.

Person identified themself as representing the Virginia State Troopers Association (not sure on the last word).  Claimed that I had made a contribution to them in the past (when I had not).

Calls every few days but no answer!

Humg up before I got to the phone... these days it is so hard to know who is real and who is not... I have a relative in the police department...when we can we just give the checks to him and he passes it along to the local group ....

Got a Call from this number today.  They asked if I am interested in helping the children.  Sounds like a scam to me

Have had multiple calls from this number.  Usually hangs up when our kids answer.  Go get em!

Called on a Friday night - wasn't sure -- guessing this is a bad number as shown on this site.

I get calls from this number several times a week. It's usually about donating money to the Police or Sheriff's association. Once they asked me to make a donation for the troops overseas. When I told them that my husband was in the military & that he had a donation alloted out of each paycheck, they said Thanks" & they hung up.

Its the Fraternal Order of Police. They "shock" you into listening as soon as they say "police". I used to work for them in Fairfax soliciting money for the "Easter Seals Foundation" but calling from "The Fraternal Order of Police". To the best of my knowledge that place got shut down a few years after I left and that was back in 97-98. Due to some sort of corruption was the rumor. Donations didn't all wind up in the correct pots. But that is all unofficial and I am not trying to defame the Fraternal Order of Police's charity fund-raising efforts.

They can call you even if youre on the "do not call list" because that does not block "non-profit" agencies from being able to contact you.

Someone from 1-703-539-5978 called today and mentioned they represented the State Troopers. The telemarketer actually had the nerve to get an attitude with me after I politely told him I was not interested and asked him not to call back. He accused me of lying when I told him I was busy. Caller tried to use intimidation to make me feel bad for "not helping." Rude and very shady.

Calls every other day.  Never leaves a messagae.  Said they are soliciting donations for the Virginia State Police Association.  Asked for $25 or $35 dollar donations.  When I asked what the name of the company was doing the telemarketing they said they are called Civic Development Group.  The way they do business is odd.

703-539-5978... get two to three calls a day.. even the weekends.. it will ring two or three times and then when I answer there is no one there..

They've called me a few times even though i've registered for the Do Not Call list, and have NEVER made a donation before.  I've only had my number for a less than a month and they've called 3 times!!

i have no idea who this is they never answer me when i pick up the phone but yesterday they called me atleast 4 times in 3 hours!!!

I keep getting phone calls from this phone number.  They hang up as soon as I answer no matter how many times I let it ring before picking up.

Recently , gotten same thing from an 803 area code.  They'd call a million times and you'd get frustrated and call them back.  They then charge you $25.00 per minute for the call and keep you on the line as long as possible.  

Beware about calling the company back.  Sometimes making the call back verifies a working number and then they sell that to another company.

3 calls in 12 hours from 703-539-5978...but I'm never home to answer the phone anyway...

Yes I have had this number call me and I politely told him I was in college, and had no money because of bills and such, and he was mad because i wouldn't help the children, and then he goes well if you have a visa or master card, that will give you time to pay it, and i told him i had no such cards.

this number calls twice a day, once making their name unknown
