POSING AS IRS

rec'd message from officer Steven Jones, claiming to be from IRS. Said they had received a legal complaint against me, and "If you disregard this message you alone are responsible for the legal actions that are taken against you. Thank you and have a great day!"  The number is 703-565-2205
THIS IS A SCAM!!!!  It's been in all the newspapers. Do not call them back.

SCAM!!!  My situation is the same as SB's.

It's a SCAM. I got the same message as SB and they keep calling me back.

Got a call same as SB's ;the caller has an foreign accent and named Jennifer Wilson.

A scam. Posing as IRS.

Fake fake fake, IRS would send mail.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got call form 703-565-2205; saying that calling from IRS.
and if I'm not getting pay them , the outstanding amount there.. will be legal action and non bailable warrant .

i got a call from 703-565-2205 number this morning....i did not answer...then heard the voice message that it is from legal cell of IRS and they received a complaint on me and i was asked to call them back....ended with "have a blessed day"

Just received a call from them. Caller claims she is calling from IRS and talks about the legal complaints. She has the foreign accent, I couldn't trust her so I let her know that I will directly contact IRS or the police perhaps. After that, I googled this number, and BAM! It's a spam. SPAM SPAM SPAM! Block this number when you get a phone call from this number.

Pretty much the same. Call from officer Scott Anderson saying my son had a IRS complaint filed against him and he would be responsible for any legal actions taken. The caller sure sounded like he was from India. I called the number back and they would not pick up. SCAM

BEWARE OF SCAM FROM THIS PHONE NUMBER:  703-565-2205.   Same trickery call to my son's cell phone in college posing as "officers" (1st Offr Steven Jones, then transferred to Offr Scott Anderson), saying "his identity has been compromised, call was being recorded, and Federal gov't has a case against him for tax fraud and evasion."  Said they were "recording call and anything could be used against him to indict for perjury."  Also said "if he didn't answer their questions, there was an outstanding warrant against him and they would come to arrest him immediately."   Problem is they had his full name, university, even his major--which my son verified before he became suspicious the call was a scam.  He didn't answer any more questions and called them out that this must be a SCAM, and they quickly hung up. When he called the number back twice, all he got was a busy signal.  He said they had a slight foreign accent, maybe Hispanic.  Problem is, they're preying on young people who might give out or confirm more personal  info before they realize it's a scam, AND they must have access to college directories since all the info they had on my son would have been found in that.  

THIS IS SCAM. don't pick up. trying to threaten and accuse people of false behavior.

just saw the voice massage saying that there has been a complain against me.now found the real reason!spam! just a [***]

Called me this morning and my mom answered and asked who they were they hung up she called back the man told my mom f yourself and hung up on her and they were foreign people..

I've been receiving similar calls.. how do we report it so that it stops..

See my post above, the directions for reporting are there. And you can't stop it unless you call block. These calls are mostly originating from India and Pakistan.
