Received a phone call from 703-579-4876. In a recorded message (or voice altered) Claimed to be the IRS and if I didn't return the call I would be in serious trouble.

Same thing JUST happend to me. Super sketchy.

Ha. same message here. No, I won't call back. He didn't even have my name.

Picked up and a pre-recorded message played with a very strange accent claiming to be from the IRS threatening serious consequences if I didn't call back or have my attorney contact him.

Thick accent claiming to be the IRS (if I understood him correctly). Didn't have any of my personal info, this is clearly a scam.

I have been getting these calls for years. Asian accent with officer American name. I crack up because they are all reading from the same script. My favroite line is " all I can do is wish you good luck as the situation unfolds around you".

I just had the same caller. It did freak me out. Thank goodness for the internet. I just put in the # that called and all of these comments popped up!! Yes, the last line was "if i don't hear from you or your attorney, all i can do is wish you luck as the situation unfolds around you"....his "officer name" was Eric Foster.

Just called my home phone about scared me half to death with his screaming in his thick accent. 100% positive this is a scam cause my entire family had no debt of any sort.

Just got the call today! I have Chase as my bank and know my info got out there so I think this is how my number got into their scam book! The only thing he can do for me is wish me good luck if I dont respond....

I just had the same call and he had me so freaked.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

Never call them back.  All you'll get is a lot of abuse.

Indian accent should be a dead giveaway.

Axiom:

If anyone with an Indian accent cold calls you and 1.  threatens you or 2.  offers you something, you know it's a scam and hang up immediately and block the call.

Corollary

Never wire  anyone money if you do not know them personally.

Got a call from "Officer Barry Foster" I could not understand anything but his name and then the last line saying "If you don't respond all I can do is wish you good luck"

Recieved the same weird call from Officer Eric Foster at 703 579 4876 with same threat. Answering machine there. His Asian/Chinese voice has been electronically distorted. I hope the authorities catch this AH and lock him up.

Same thing got a message on 10/14/14 from officer Barry Foster.  Freaked me out, so I looked the number up on the internet.  He said if I did not call him back, I better contact my attorney & he wished me luck.

I  get these calls  from the same  last name foster.  said they were from IRS. I just hung up . these people have dfrent numbers  they call from.  the last time they called they were secret service. time before they were a collection agency . I know it was the same people  every time. the one that gets me is one that is the one that they locked your computer for 24 hours to put fear  in you and that pay them or the police will be at my house to arrest me. I told them bring it on im waiting. no police came to door compute was back up in 24 houres. they even  posed as. something is wrong with your computer they can help  figure out why its sending them a message. i have told this person to quit trying to scam me and not to call this number agian. but it continues 2 to 3 times a year . I have heard it all. why haven't they got these guys yet.

The exact same message left on my machine originating in Virginia.
