My secretary received a call at my office saying we owed over $600 for an ad they said we agreed to purchase.  Woman calling said she represented Yellow Pages Online.  Checked phone number and it is an unlisted landline number in Manassas, Virginia.  I tried calling it back but no one answered.  I know there have been previous scams run by people claiming to sell advertising on the Yellow Pages website.  I suspect this is another of those scams.

Just received a call from this number saying they want payment on an invoice.  Unfortunately I fell for it last year and paid the invoice by credit card. After I figured out I never had a contract with Yellow Pages Online.  This is a scam. The person who called used the name Shauna Atkins. Beware.

I work for a church, and Shauna Atkins left a message during our staff meeting this morning.  The interim senior pastor supposedly made a commitment about this two years ago, before I was on staff.  I researched this online and found a warning about "Yellow Page USA" (I think on a Better Business Bureau website, which advised contacting my state's Dept. of Justice).  In November they recorded my responses to several questions, as best as I was able to answer them, but I was on guard and must not have said anything they could threaten to use against us later--a tactic that the warning I read described.  They were supposed to fax me something to verify the previous commitment but I heard or received nothing in three months until this second call.

She just tried to get me too a second year. Had to freeze office account.  Hope they catch these scumbags!
