- Not A. Sucker| 1 replyIndian-accented robocall that I will be arrested for tax fraud. When you call back and swear at them, they swear back at you. I applied call-blocker to these scammers.
- Caller: "IRS"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Vamari replies to Not A. SuckerSame message, twice yesterday. At least he no longer IDs himself as Peter Sampson. The same guy called IDing himself as a Detective because I supposedly had a warrant out for my arrest. What a joke.
- JRGCall threatening allegations of tax fraud and tax evasion, return the call or face the consequences, Sterling is the Caller ID I get. I will ignore it except for the nightmares. Frightening since I filed on the 14th, get the call on the 17th.
- Caller: Sterling
- EVAResponded to this call due to the area code; when I said "This is NOT the IRS - this is bull___.
Quick and immediate response was "Shut the F____ up, mother_____."
Now as disgruntled as the IRS gets, I KNOW they don't have that as typical customer service dialogue.
Right!
Report them - ChrisTwo voice mails the same day re seeerious tax evation, to call or have my attorney call, do not ignore the message or he can only wish me good luck. Says he's from IRS HQ
- EdgarThis number called asking for a "Mr. Jane Doe". I've had several calls recently that are scams. This one was obviously a scam since my name obviously isn't Jane Doe. I played along to see what he would say and when he figured I wasn't really Jane Doe he hung up. I called back several times and they just hang up on me.
- Caller: Fraudulent IRS
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BEVERLY BATES| 1 replyCALLED AND SAID I WAS GOING TO BE ARRESTED FOR IDENITY THEFT. SAID HE WAS WITH IRS. IM VERY FLUSTRATED WITH THIS MAN. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
- Caller: IRS???????
- Call type: Prank
- MJG replies to BEVERLY BATESThere is not much WE can do other than advise others about this scam. They caller is in India or Pakistan. Consider a call blocking phone or simply do not answer unknown numbers that call you.
- jgk| 2 repliesFound the same message on my answering machine when I returned after two days away from home. Accented voice identifying itself as a robocall from the IRS, they have evidence of my committing tax fraud, a letter came back as undeliverable, I or my attorney should call the number immediately, I should not ignore the call, if I do ignore it, "good luck." Had me going for a bit because I did have a little misunderstanding with the IRS a few years ago that I thought had been completely resolved, but when I called the number it did not answer. I was very relieved to see these posts.
Sounds a lot like the same people who have called me several times over the past couple years telling me that they are from Windows, I have bad problems with my computer, they can fix it, etc. etc.- Caller: IRS
- Slim replies to jgk| 1 replyYou may be correct ... they may be the same people who call about "infected computers".
There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.
USA tax payers should read this:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Phone-Scams-C ... 5-Filing-Season
Canadian tax payers should read this:
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/nwsrm/lrts/2013/l131210-eng.html
Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

http://www.nbcnews.com/business/taxes/tax-imp ... hearing-n341906 - AnnoyedMy mom called me paranoid about this call she received threatening to that she was going to be arrested in 30 minutes regarding her taxes. While I was on the phone with her I googled the number and came across this page so I told her not to worry that it was a scam. I then called the number later and sure enough someone answer. I didn't understand the beginning part of his intro but I understood "from Internal Revenue" When I told him that he called my mom and I reported him he then told me that he loved me and when I told him that he needs to stop calling people and that he was a jerk he asked if he can suck my p*&^y and my boobs. I then hung up on him. The number is 703-661-9032

- MGPI got the same call yesterday and they left a message. I knew it was fake so I called back using one of those free texting apps. Told the guy I got a message about owing taxes. He asked for my phone number so I asked him if he wants to go to prison for the rest of his life and I started swearing at him. He didn't say anything. He just hung up. I called back and did it again. He just hung up. He's no fun.
