- TomReverse lookup says it is the Republican Party of Virginia. I got a call (in Michigan) from them asking for my brother who is in the Middle East.
- Call type: Political call
- BFairfax, VA Republican party
- Caller: Fairfax Republicans
- Call type: Political call
- KenGot it and no one there. Trying to call back, it's "disconnected", what kind of a scam is this?
- NoVaGalTraces back to Republican Party of Virginia (2012 Victory Office). Caller asked "You've committed to vote for Romney in the Election haven't you?"
My husband laughed, said "No way!" and hung up.
Blocked them from future calls (as I do all political organizations .. don't care which party .. over half of them are bogus surveys, etc. anyway).- Caller: None Given
- Call type: Political call
- RobertWhen I answered the phone the caller immediately hung up. Having the number identified on caller ID, I immediately called this person back. I asked why he was calling my number. He kept saying "Excuse me?" He finally said, "I wasn't calling you, I was calling your wife." I asked "Why would you be calling my wife/" Again he said "Excuse me?" I demanded that he never, ever call my number again and hung up.
- Caller: Unknown
- DoNotCallThis number is associated with "VA Victory", a Republican campaign organization. Looks like a cell number (?), but publicly listed as the number for the Northern VA regional office. Came up as "Vienna VA" on caller ID - didn't answer. Appears to be operated by/under "The Republican Party of Virginia". So, basically a marketing call for our Republican presidential candidate. Possibly to confirm my receipt of all 8 Romney brochures/mailings/"Prez Ads" I have been sent so far. Side-note: Those suckers are nice heavy stock, and make great paper airplanes for the kids. And no, this has nothing to do with political stance or ideology - Obama's make great airplanes too. Purely a matter of personal opinion, and to each his or her own - but I view these calls the same way I view every other telemarketing call - unwanted intrusions to the 'quiet enjoyment' of my home...a legal concept which rests squarely on a constitutional foundation (one which I don't think has been rescinded yet).
Website is www.VAVictory2012.com. Here is a cut and paste from their "About" Page:
"Virginia Victory is the coordinated campaign in charge of winning the state of Virginia for the Republicans in 2012. We are on the ground with offices all over the state of Virginia, rallying the grassroots to organize, get involved, raise money, and ultimately defeat President Obama, Tim Kaine, and congressional Democrats up and down the ballot this year.
The Chairman of the Virginia Victory effort in 2012 is Pete Snyder. Snyder is the CEO of Disruptor Capital, a Virginia-based seed and angel capital investment company focused on funding and growing disruptive technologies, ideas and entrepreneurs. Prior to starting Disruptor, Pete was the Founder & CEO of New Media Strategies, the world’s first and, currently, the largest social media marketing agency." Slightly off-topic, but I challenge this, and other similar organizations, to critically assess the effectiveness of these calls and mailings. With every government entity encouraging everyone to "consider the environment before printing" an e-mail, I am curious as to how many tons of trash these translate into. Instead of sending out slanted, oftentimes out of context or "snipped" sound-byte quote-ads which apparently highlight an egregious negative of the opposition - take ALL the money and contribute it to an organization, cause, etc. which your affiliation supports. The 50K you spent to tell me and my neighbors voting for "X" will compromise my child's education - could go a long way in a VA school district - used for something with *actual*, tangible, quantifiable results - a positive impact, short-term. (Soap box removed)- Caller: VA Republican Party
