I got an obviously fraudulent call from this number about the IRS and taxes and dire consequences. It was a laughably incompetent call. I am not sure how to stop these annoying idiots and criminals. Can't the phone companies do anything

I also just received the same phone call from the same number. The person on the other end claimed to be Officer Dan Waters and he wanted to discuss a tax issue. He had an extremely thick accent and it was difficult to understand exactly what he was trying to say. The entire message had an unbelievable tone to it. I was able to discern the fraud, however, my Parents who are extremely gullible and naïve when it comes to internet or telephone fraud believed the message. I wish there was a way to protect innocent people from these types of fraud.

I got 2 messages from a person claiming the same information that was posted by San Bruno, CA.  

I have been getting several phone calls from this same individual with a thick accent and from same number. What recourse do we have?

I received two calls from this number.  In between calls I searched backwords and found that the number belonged to an only partially identified Limited Liability Company located in Alexandria Virginia.  I actually called them back and had verbal sparring match with someone on the other end who had a very bad accent.  After a few words he wanted to talk only to my wife.  I think he believed he could intimidate her.  He obviously doesn't know my wife.  I hung up on him, and a short time later another critter from this same corral called again.  Same message, same threats, no reference to my call to them.  I have contacted our local law enforcement authorities and they are sending someone over to listen to the two recordings.
