Message left on my voice mail saying it's the irs and a claim has been filed against me in a federal court.

Called and said they were calling from the IRS and then call dropped.  Called back on another line and they were unable to look up my information without knowing my telephone number.

Message left on my cell phone saying they are calling regarding something IRS related at the federal court house.  call back imediately to avoid prosecution .

Same as above. Claimed IRS needed me and must contact them before a case was taken to federal court.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Ignore and block the calls. Old scam.  Been around awhile.

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I rec'd a call from this number stating that a legal petition with the IRS involves me.  This sounds fishy to me because the IRS usually will send out a letter rather than call individuals.  The caller ID states that the call is from Virginia.  Has anyone tried to phone them back?

also got called by this number, person with accent said I was being sued by IRS.  When I said I would check with my local office, they hung up.  Called back and they are still answering "good morning, IRS...."  even gave a IRS agent no of 4986.  Reverse phone # says it is mobile # in DC area.  Definitely a scam.  wanted to know if I had a lawyer yet

703 828 0315, claiming to be the IRS, still answering phones the morning of 2-27-15, stating they are the IRS, deep Indian Accent, lots of noise in the back ground, WTF, total scam, wish I was better at Scamming them, but I am Not, Yikes.

IRS COURT ACTION PENDING. Call back immediately to avoid prosecution. I returned the call "No Answer".

Got this call twice now .  It is not the IRS it is a scam call. The IRS contacts you by US mail.  I did call back and told them I repirted them to our state Attirney age real.  This phone call has made the news in our state to tell people to be aware and not get snookered by this.  When this number shows up I just pick the phone up and hang it back up.

I received the EXACT same call this morning. Tried calling it back and he pretended like he could not hear me. So I called back again 2 other times and the call immediately dropped. SCAM!! The dude was from India and a ton of background noise.

I just the the call.  I did not pick up.  They left a message regarding an IRS Federal Claim.

Got my morning wake up call from this scammer.  2nd time at my home number.  Time to add in my ever growing block list.

3/9/15    Got the same message. When I tried to call back I got a dial tone to an extention The message ended with "have a blessed day".

Still calling as of  312/15 very hostile and was very upsetting tried to scare me to death.  They will not stop calling either

Received a call from the "IRS" to call this number about a notice from the court. The IRS does not make phone calls or email you.

My mom got the call similar to everyone above, I found this forum so I called and started off like a confused person, then I started with the explicatives and told him to drop the act after some good mean spirited fun he told me I should kill myself, I told him I just had a porterhouse from his sacred cow and it got worse....after I called him a Pakistanee he blew up and said he was indian and I was a cocky sob
