We received a weird phone message from a very loud person who stated that we had committed tax fraud. We are in very close contact with our accountant and pay all of our taxes. By the way...the IRS will never notify you by phone.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I just received the same phone call.

Received a call, person could not correctly pronounce my name and English was horrible. Said from IRS, I told  them this sounds like a scam and hung up. I will report this to the IRS toll free number.

Received 3 calls (voice messages) in 3 days threatening imprisonment!

Received the same phone calls with a voicemail of the same person/computer recording using the exact same words, threatening imprisonment and to return the call or the next time they call to have my attorney information or something like that. I heard that a number similar to this, maybe even the same number has been scamming people and have actually been able to obtain money, large amounts of money using this tactic. THE IRS WILL NEVER CALL YOU WITH ANY THREATS LIKE THIS< EVER.

I got a call from this number, much like others described.  Person with poor English urging me to have myself or "my criminal attorney" call asap.  I will call the 1-800 number suggested above though I am not 100% that they actually said they were the IRS.  They seemed to infer it for sure.

You would think the scammers would get someone who at least speak English.

Your pondering has only one flaw in it. For foreign 3rd world criminals to lean to speak English would require a basic education. It is a fact that 9 of 10 students in India drop out of school by grade 5. Many students only go to school because of the free meal, and teachers are looked at as babysitters. You may search any of these facts.

Gotten calls from this number 6 times today on my cell. I do have a call block on my phone but they keep leaving voice mails. This scam needs to stop.

These people have been calling me repeatedly stating that I committed tax fraud and need to clear the matter before I am arrested and imprisoned. When I told the lady who goes by the name of Cristina Johnson, that this is a scam, she continued to become belligerent. Reported them to the tigta.gov.

similar phone message, suggesting time sensitive legal issue.  "Call before you are arrested".

Jason Miller from this number contacted me and said the same thing. He is full of [***] no one should give him information.

Got 3 of these messages on my phone. Same script. Loud woman with an accent who had a real authoritative and urgent voice threatening improsinment. Unfortunately for every one of us that looks it up online, there will be someone who falls for it.

if you block the 703-888-5815 # they have multiple other  numbers they use that are caller unknown.. i have called them back reppeatedly and they now hate  me !! i will continue to call and harrass them. they do niot appreciate being on the receiving end of my calls--imagine that!! have also reported the to the police and the irs scam  web site!!

Have gotten 3 messages left today, which were rather threatening saying I better call back before I am arrested.  I called back and a woman named Officer Kristen Johnson, who had an accent, stated she was from the IRS and her Badge # was 852350. She provided all kinds of information about government agencies monitoring the call.  She said that the Tax audit department was investigating my returns from 2007 to 2013.  Told me the Police had been to my door.  I asked for her supervisor's name. She gave the name of Jason O'Connell.  I asked to speak to him and she hung up.

The number (703) 888-5815 has called at least 6-7 times. I have received voice messages and I actually talked to a Kristen Johnson myself. I was unable to get her badge number. They tell me that we are being audited for tax evasion or fraud. I have submitted 2 complaints to the IRS and I also contacted the better business bureau. The calls continue and now it is bordering on harrassment. As soon as I told her that I would call the police, better business bureau and IRS she hung up. If this continues I will contact my attorney and the local news station to get to the bottom of this scam.

told i would be imprisoned,  same crap  ....who would fall for this, tried to call back to blow air horn in phone, just a busy signal.  Caller id an an air horn  , can't wait for them to try again,   with love  to my American  brothers and sisters from Canada !

I received this call at 7:15 this morning!  Talked to three different people, Jason Miller, being one of them....same song and dance about being put in jail if not paid today.  He gave me the same 703-888-5815 number to call back. Sounds very official with badge numbers and case numbers.  So glad I took time to look it up before being fooled.  Thanks to everyone for posting!
