I got a call from this number also.  703-9578-7675
The man first just said he was with the IRS and there was a law suit being filed against me.
He didn't give his name until I asked for it (Richard Parker) ... he sounded like he was from India.
I told him that I know about this scam going around, and he got defensive.  I asked for a number to call back and he actually gave me the IRS 800-829-1040 number.
I called back the 703 number, and asked for him by name, and another foreigner answered sounding annoyed that I was asking for Richard Parker and that I had this number.  He asked for the badge number, to which Parker didn't supply me with.  I told this POS that I had reported this number to the scam department of the IRS, and that I gave this information to my FBI friend.  He asked if I was recording this call, then hung up.

Just received a nasty message on my answering machine from IRS, I called back and they asked me if I was Donna and did I have criminal lawyer. I needed one because Of income tax evasion. I told him I file every year, he said someone came to my home on Sept. 2014 and I told him I was here all day my calendar showed no appointments, and no one came here with 35 pages for me to sign. He said his name was Jason and gave me a fake badge number. I told him I thought the call was a fraud and hung up. I hope you find these people. They were foreign and sounded quite forceful. The message was from a woman.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

USA tax payers should read this:

Canadian tax payers should read this:
    http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/nwsrm/lrts/2013/l131210-eng.html

    Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

This scam is also described as scam #11, here:

Had a message on my answering machine that it was the IRS and that I needed a criminal attorney for Fraud and not filing.  I know this is a scam since I file every year with my accountant.  They need to stop these people because I'm sure they scare a lot of innocent people.

I got the same guy -- Jason -- after that number called me several times and left threatening messages in the same vein -- I finally called the # back and got Jason who told me the same story, even the same month of September when certified mail was delivered and I was not home (ha)  etc. -- it was so obviously a scam and he hung up when I started asking him for HIS identification and sources -- there are many seniors in this area who have received these calls and they could be very disconcerting to good citizens.  My policeman friend told me there are a lot of inquiries about this particular scam.  Same gang - same script - "you must call right back or you will be arrested" -- woman left several voice mails (in broken English).  It was easy to see thru this, but I wonder if some unwary senior might fall for it and run into
identity theft trouble?  "Nasty" is a good word to describe their voices and message!

IRS SCAMMER! IRS or a Sherriffs officer will never ever call you for information or threaten to arrest you over phone unless you provide credit card or personal information.
Got a call from Richard parker with same scam. After pestering her for a while she finally gave in and hung up.Called back as I wanted to pull these idiots leash a little bit.  Call answered by a Christine Johnson. Told her I did have a criminal attorney they could call and send info to, she hung up immediately.  Very offical they are all "Officers" and all have badge numbers.  Called again and played along sounding like a poor scared helpless soul.  This time it was Denzel Walter.  He took me through the whole entire talk and how a sheriff would be contacting me in the next two hours to verify my personal details. Started laughing and he hung up.  What I suggest is calling them back over and over again.  They get very irritated and tell you that you have reached the wrong number.  "Is this a joke" they ask.  HA!  They tell you it's a residence and freely offer up an address.  It's hysterical!

They had blocked my number a few days ago because I kept calling them back and annoying them.  Looks like block was removed since it's ringing.  Time for some fun!  Gave the numbers out to my friends.  They are also calling and clogging up the lines.

Glad you're having fun. You might not think it funny when you start getting 20 or more calls a day from their crony scammer friends.

People have reported being severely harassed after giving a scammer grief. Good luck.
