Computer calling, said "Congratulations ! You......."
I hung up and had Ooma block the number

CallerId said Cellphone NC

The caller ID just says North Carolina call. No message left!

I missed the call from this number. I called the number back, and received a Verizon Wireless tele-prompt asking me to enter my ten-digit Verizon Wireless number. I do not use Verizon Wireless and have not used Verizon Wireless in the past. I did not press any button in response to the prompts and eventually the prompts asked me for information concerning prepaid phones from Wal-Mart. This may be a phishing scam.

Received a call this morning for student loan forgiveness, Asked to Press 1 to continue and press 2 to remove my name from the list. I do not  know what  I was thinking at that time , probably I was too mad to think clearly  I just pressed 2 and hang up instead of just hanging up.  I do not know whether this person
get any information of  me from my phone.. I just dialed back the number and  was  greeted  with the answer "Welcome Verizon National payment center" .

Received call from this number 9:31 a.m. 10-20-14. Did not answer. Other posts suggest that was the right move.

Verizon National Payment Center. Yet another scam trying to get more blood from a turnip! There needs to be a more severe penalty for these losers that continually harass people over the phone. Why don't they give it a rest and find something better to do with their time.

I agree, lets put an end to these telemarketers.  Huge penalties and ability to block these people would be in order.  I never answer my home phone anymore thanks to these people!  Im sure the phone companies have taken a huge hit to their bottom line with people like you and me just cancelling our phone service in order to avoid these calls.

Called my cell phone at 9:36 am today. I didn't recognize number and didn't answer.

congratulations, you've won a trip to the Bahamas!!!! That's all I cared to hear. Don't know who they are or how they got my number, but will report and block them

How in the hell is it Verizon payment center and free vacation to the Bahamas? That sounds fishy as hell. I answered but no one was on the other end.  My bills are all paid so I don't duck calls,  but I do check after I answer if no one is on the other end.  Guess I should learn to ignore numbers that aren't in my contacts.

Seems to me to be a phishing phone number,so I called Verizon and reported it.  If it's legitimately Verizon then no harm,  no foul.  If they are trying to scam account passwords or whatever then I'm sure Verizon will shut them down fairly quickly.  

My good deed for the day is done.

I got a call from  this number this morning.  I answered it and said, "if I took a survey I could win a trip"  I listen further and they said if you don't want to take the survey press  #9.  I did that and they said thank you for your time and your number will be removed from our list.  We will see if it worked.

Based on what I am reading, it looks like a telemaggoter is might be spoofing a Verizon telephone number to cover up what is actually a scam. Nonetheless I would say not to return these calls. There is also the chance this Verizon payment center you are reaching is a scam itself.

Got a call this morning on my cell, didn't answer, didn't know the number.  I have never had Verizon if that's who it was calling.  

Answered phone w/ no reply at other end. So tired of these calls taking up my time.

Received call @ 0931 this morning, 10/24 on my cell phone. Only family and work have access to my cell phone #, so didn't answer. No message was left. Fishy to me, if it was important, why wasn't a message left?

Got a call from this number so I. Blocked my number and called them back until they blocked me lol.... Yeap I called pretend I was not in my right mind and they hung up....called back and did it again until they stopped answering and then it had a busy tone lol......
