Caller stated that I was being sued by a credit card company that I never had.  She stated that the Local sherriff would be serving me with a summons at work or at home.  She claimed that they were not a debt collecter but they could settle something on the phone.  Told her that I never had a credit card with this company and she said i would be sued.  I told her that it was fine, sue me.  I hung up on her and she called back and said to my mother that I was getting sued.  OMG!  By the way, she also said my credit card debt was from 14 years ago.

They are definitely bumps. I used to work for Darren Abrams and crew, all of the employees know what's going on. Don't give them your credit card numbers. They will charge them over and over again to try to pay his employees since his company doesn't make enough for him to make payroll. He will shut down his business and start new with another with a new name and location but still in Charlotte. Usually on the east side because that's where he lives. He drives a really nice Mercedes. Probably a 2012. I had his tag number in case I needed to find him. When they call just keep the number and Google, I'm quite sure you can find out where his office is located. And it's usually a hole in the wall place with about 5 people working in there.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
