need to know caller name

They call all the time and I mainly hang up. It appears that others have the same problem.

Says Charlotte, NC, but they also just sit there and then hang up on me.  I think it is an automated system and will not respond unless you just say "hello," but I am not sure.  I answer the phone with our business name and get a lot of presumed "automated hang up calls" from various numbers.  I have a Comcast digital line.  Anyone else out there getting this call on a digital line?  I wonder if Comcast might be selling customer information.  We did not have nearly as many telemarketing calls when we were with BellSouth/AT&T.

Two calls today, 01/16/09, about 2 hours apart (1002 and 1204).  But, no ID and no message left in my Voice Mail.  So, I have no idea who, what or why.

8 hours since the last call from this number today.  STILL no ID and no message left in Voice Mail.

I recieved a call from this number 1-30-2009, it was a male voice that knew my name but would not identify themselves when they asked "how was I doing today" and I inquired to who is asking they hung up.

Male voice knew my name, and said he was calling on behalf of "Ed James" regarding me being a recipient of Medicare Part A&B. I am not a Medicare recipient, and he apologized and said he would take me off his list.

I looked this number up on "YELLOWPAGES.COM". The number is unpublished, but it is identified as being located in Charlotte, NC; their map shows the location on E Trade Street, between S Davidson Street and N Alexander Street.

Answered the call with "Hello..."; no response and eventual hang up by calling party.

Hearing that a previous poster actually got a response from the caller referring to Medicare, I believe I have an idea of what happened. They are obviously marketing some kinda of health care insurance or related product/service. They have lists of (probable) medicare recipients. They called my line expecting my grandmother (78 year old woman) and instead got my voice (29 year old man). Rather than say/ask anything at all, they just hung up. This annoys me greatly, and I always call back numbers that hang up without response to chastise them.

When I called back 704-837-7196, I got the tel-co automated message that "this number is disconnected"; which came as a shock seeing as I had just received a call from them. Confusing, but if I get a call from them again I'll just answer angrily that they need to take my number off of their list.

Keep calling. Don't know the number. Very annoying.

Medicare? Geez guys, cut me some slack! I'm only forty. LOL

To whom it may concern,

I have been having major problems with a phone number in your State.  (704) 837-7196 I Googled  the number and found out my husband and I our not the only ones.  There are 88 pages of people with problems from this number alone.

Your state seems to be having a problem with this number and several others of harassing calls, now I know its not just your state but for the moment it is the one I am having a problem with.  

When it is called back the number says it has been disconnected how can someone do that.  Can someone in your office help us make them stop.

The Consumer Protection Division of the NC Attorney General's office is the appropriate Agency for this type of complaint.  They can be reached by calling 1-877-5-NO-SCAM.  The NC Secretary of State's office would not be the proper Agency to direct this complaint to.

Caller left no message

Just called (Sept. 23, 2009) and didn't say anything.
