Has called me the last few days and hangs up on me and the answering machine.
I called the number back but got dead silence so I tried again and it did the same thing no ringing no busy signal nothing.

Today is the first time. that I know of, that this number appeared on the caller ID...as I approached to pick up the phone, the answering machine picked up and the caller sat on the line and didn't leave any kind of message.  
I would really appreciate a message!  How can I return a call if no message is left.  If the caller doesn't want to leave a message it must not be important enough for a return phone call from me.  Just because they don't speak with someone in my home, that is not an invitation for the caller to repeatedly call my home!

Caller hung up on me just as soon as I picked up the phone. How RUDE!

Received call on my cell phone.  When I returned call, dead silence.

Actually got a call from them yesterday and i looked up the info he gave me on the Charlotte Fire Dept. Site.  The Company (that's calling you) is called FireCo. They want to sell you tickets to a concert in October ($22 a piece) at Cricket Arena for the Platters (old band) The concert info is on the Fire Dept.Website.  Funds go to buy the fire houses that 3rd an 4th graders go through to practice fire escape as well as a lot of other items.  The hang ups are a pain in the ass, i agree, but for the record, they really are raising money for the charlotte fire dept.  Looks Legit to me.. just thought i'd share.

Just got a call from this number on my business phone.  The caller just said "sorry, wrong number".  If this was a legitimate business soliciting for the CFD, why not just ask for a donation???  I would be more than happy to donate to a worthy cause, but they need to do a better job soliciting!!  
As a side note - I agree with Ellen, the DNC Registry is NOT working.

Same thing, hang ups, no dial tone, etc.  I did a reverse search on the number, got the address and then went to city search and found another number for them... one that works!!!  No more calls.

Same thing, FireCo is a legitimate business that is sub-contracted for a number of Fire Department however thay should fix their machine and pich up when a computer dials.

Been a month since I've gotten a call from this number, just got another one. Same old same old... hang up on answering machine.

I just received a call from this number as well yesterday and just now 1:45 pm on Tuesday. Yesterday, I called the number back and their was dead silence. I thought it was my phone so I called from my cell phone and received the same thing. Then just now I received a call and the caller said 'Mam' and I said yes and he said sorry wrong number. So, I was thinking to my self if it's the wrong number how do you know because anyone could be mam. So, I looked up the number to make sure it wasn't one of those pick up the phone & you're being charged X amount of dollars. It's still weird to me why he didn't just complete the call if he's selling tickets for a good cause. But maybe he has to call a certain amount of people a day to meet his quota though. However, it's still rude.

I called the number and they were very nice and removed my number from their database. Their automatic dialer does not recognize a human voice at times is what the lady told me.
