Who is this "unknown" caller?  They have called my number every day for several days, but leave no message.

Someone using this number is also calling my house 5 times today

Got a call from 706-247-7263 at 9:24 A.M. 8-June-2011, I didn't answer.

This number has called me 4 times in a 4 days.  When I answer they hang up.  Per another website it is a cell phone in Athens GA.

Yes, they call here, too.  I didn't answer. So glad I finally have caller ID. July 25m 2011

I also had a call from this number. I was out at the time so I called back. Got a message asking me to leave a message. I have family in Augusta.
Maybe we can get this who ever stopped.

caller id said PUBLIC SAFETY, but just a computer call when answered.  I am sure it's just another collection call scam

Called several times over past weeks and I haven't answered.  Caller ID says unknown. Picked up today and it was supposedly some charity asking for breast cancer fund donations. Lots of static on the line.  No idea if this was a legitimate charity call, but it didn't sound like it.

I received a call today 10:59 am from 706-247-7263
A man slowly said my name then said , "I heard you're moving." and then hung up the phone.

Calls from this number come frequently.

I won the "Grand Prize" that I signed up for "recently".  All I have to do is call their 1-800 to collect the Sweepstakes Award.  This is per the recorded message.  I haven't signed up for anything, and I haven't called them back, yet they've call me twice since the original call.  I simply don't answer calls from unknown numbers.

They call daily, caller ID shows "Unknown Caller"  Luckily I have a Panasonic phone which will block 30 numbers.  I've about run out of room.  I'm considering a Call Blocker which will block 80 numbers and is available on the internet.

I have received several calls from this number. The caller identifies themselves as being from Public Safety (I think) and wants a donation for Breast Cancer foundation. I have told them that I donate through my church and that I do not donate to someone who doesnot identify themselves.

This # called tonight at about in NC.  I have family and friends with 706# in NE GA, so thought it was some of them.  Answered but they said nothing.  I called the # back, and recording said "extension [5 something, something, something] cannot be reached.  Please leave a message."

I have been receiving calls from this place for several months.  This is the first time I answered.  They asked for me and they knew the last 4 digits of my social security number, but refused to give me any information about the purpose of their company.  CNC is the only information that I got out of them.  When I questioned them, they said that they would not discuss anything until they verified the social security number.  I told them I would not verify anything until I knew more about the company.

Scammer, tries to get your personal information & or a donation.  Request varies from phone call to phone call. Do not answer or give them any information

See Jeb's response above....this is true.....never, never give out your information over the phone!  Do not answer these calls or just hang up on them.

True, if a company refuses to FULLY identify themselves (name, physical address, local telephone #, type of business, website address) so that you can check and verify the information, as well as look at the BBB report, they need NO information from anyone they call.  They CERTAINLY do not need banking, credit card, or personally identifiable information.  THEY are doing the calling and should have the information!
