CallerID says Dalton, GA with this number. Message only says press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish. Local news has been reporting a lot of calls like this that, when you do press 1 or 2, re-route your call to a Caribbean service that charges $30 per minute.

Calls coming daily over the last month. A recording asks for a woman I don't know and has certainly never lived here. Found out they are trying to collect on a 2010 medical debt. Told them to stop calls and I wasn't who they were after. I built this home, lived alone here for almost 45 years now and have had the same phone number since moving here. The phone rep called me a liar and said they'd be calling until I paid them. Working with local sheriff now and will record future calls and file a complaint. They said I can collect up to $1,000 a call if I tell them to stop calling and they don't.

While you are at it, let them know you are recording their phone conversation (legal in most states), and intend to use this as evidence when you take them to court for TCPA and FDCPA violations.

Saw this message about a month too late. Got a call from this number and pressed 1. After about a 30 second delay I got an odd sounding ring signal, two really quick rings. The call was finally answered after about 10-12 rings, but then hung up. Didn't think anything of it until I got my phone bill for last month and noticed a $50 charge for a single call to an area code 900 number. Phone company will not remove charge and tells me that the call actually was re-routed to an area code 473 number in Grenada.

Yep ... that is the network signal for "call transferred".

Yes.  That is why the regulars here tell folks NOT to call back when they do not recognize the number on their Caller ID.  Most other warning sites also tell visitors NOT to call back!

Some curious people will return the call and will immediately be charged $19.95 for an international call fee and an additional $9-per-minute charge, according to a news release from the BBB.

Called trying to collect on a 10+ year old debt by somebody I've never heard of before. Very intimidating caller said "you can't stop us from calling" and "if you'd just pay us what you owe, we'll stop calling". Will not listen to me when I tell them the person doesn't live here. This has to be where some dead-beat gave them my number.

Extremely unethical and unprofessional caller trying to collect an old debt from somebody I do not know. They have my address and phone number, but the other information, like employer and age, is all wrong. I'm an 80 year old man, single and retired, lived in my apartment alone for almost 35 years now. They are looking for a woman that works for a fast food restaurant. After I tell the woman it's not me she wants, she says, "We know where you live. Do you really want us to come to your apartment and collect in person? We don't give up. It would be much easier on you to pay what is owed. We could work out a payment plan right now over the phone. If you don't, what would your neighbors think to hear us shouting at your door about how you haven't paid debts that you owe?" And that's just some of the threats made. Calls will not stop.

I only wish that I had found this internet page before now. These people have been calling my home for about 5 months now all through the day and night with their recorded messages. When I do get to talk to a person they will not listen to me when I tell them that the person they want is unknown. All they do is threaten me with more collection calls, making embarrassing visits from their local collection agents that they will send to my home and taking legal action. I am a widow in my late eighties now and I simply want these calls to stop. I do not know what to do other than to disconnect my telephone at night and I worry because that also disconnects my alert system. The police will not take a report and our councilman says there is nothing that he can do to assist me.
